Even after seeing all of the song titles I was guessing the theme was just 'common song titles' lmao.

 

(Sorry I didn't take part in this quiz, reversed song clips give me the heebie jeebies so I decided to abstain x)

Just catching up now - thanks for hosting Mango. Very happy with the joint win (well done to Riser too), I loved this - although it took up a large amount of time starring at the missing letters round. Ebineezer Goode drove me crazy. The theme also helped me with the backwards songs as I had initially put the wrong song for a couple of artists.

Thanks for running this Mango! It was very addictive but equally frustrating too, that said- I got all of the 90s missing letter #1s very quick though.

I got it from only Sorry and Jump (which was part of the wall in Only Connect so on my mind). I think the reason I did is because I vividly remember that era of Madonna so well it just hit me immediately - then I could work backwards (literally) to get the other songs. I couldn't get #9 though and I don't think I ever would have done to be fair. A shame we didn't hear a backwards Paul Weller for “Hung Up”..

I put Prodigy for #5, I know the first part of the clip didn't sound like it but the long "ooooooh"s were very Smack My Bitch Up.

 

And #7 definitely sounds German in reverse hence why I guessed Rammstein :lol:

 

Didn't have a clue on the theme despite getting 8/10 though!

 

And I'm seriously surprised there was even 1 song which everyone got. I've done tens of these clip quizzes and there's almost never a full house even for the most well known songs of all time so the fact one backwards was fully guessed is impressive.
