Welcome- no idea what is going to win but I suspect my votes will be heavily influenced by nostalgia!

God there were some terrible #1s in the 80s! :o

I think this will be a lot easier to cut down than the 90s one but those at the very top will be really difficult to separate

Sent mine in. I am surprised at my top 3, wouldn't have picked that in advance!

Oh wow

Kinda hate the early 80s and love there late 80s

but I'm gonna listen to all songs on repeat to Get familiar with the ones I never heard

First cull of anything I don't like plus stuff that's OK but not great puts my list at 60.

Voted.

I want to believe that my SOTY from 1982 year will get (at least some) points from other participants.

Edited by Last Dreamer

Yeh the later 80s no1s are a lot better but think the songs in the early 80s were better but maybe didn’t hit the top spot!

Thanks for running this Gezza!!

I was thinking along those lines too... I love the music from the early 80s but it's so poorly represented by the #1s. There are definitely still some real high points though.

This is actually harder than my 90s list. I'm down to 32 but I absolutely love everything on my list.....
Some of these have dated badly (and some I haven't heard oops) but the great ones are really great, looking forward to compiling my list!

47 in my short list but 23 of those are 1987-89.

I have some listening to do.

Edited by Colm

I'll try to give this a go but I'll definitely need to do some research first.

I've done mine- I surprised myself at my top 10 and my number 1, the lower reaches are full of nostalgia for me- I apologise for none of them! :w00t:
I've cut out the ones I don't want to vote for and I've got 84 remaining. Turns out this may actually be harder than I thought :(
Right my votes are on their way... had to be really brutal with a lot of 10/10 moments not making it. Plus I decided to cut songs by artists that had already got a fair representation in my points.
Early 80s comes out stronger for me - I started going down the list, and by the time I got to Imagine already had 10 I wanted to vote for! Will need to do some culling but will try to keep some that may not get many other votes and others that might spring a few surprises!
