I was fairly confident of my song qualifying but began to doubt that when there were only two places left. Good to see it go through to the next round. :cheer:

The way my heart sank at Cor Lupus falling just 2 points short of sparing us the inevitable dramatics xx

 

Was also slightly disappointed actually at FSR Rontvia falling short here, I thought while I was adding up that they had a shot but ultimately not quite - I enjoyed that song quite a lot more than I remember doing so at the time, managed to sneak into my points! Sadge at the lack of justice for JPEGMAFIA and Bartees Strange but like of course there was 0% chance either of those would be avoiding a deduction.

 

 

My biggest loss here being the second Republic of Adonia track which would also have qualified if it didn't have the deduction lol. The surprise last minute votes from Numayania were allllmost enough to save themselves but alas not quite.

 

Sandénia managing to finish 40th in both groups including having the only song that received 0 votes. Oops. :ph34r:

 

(PS for the integrity of not revealing the slightest spoilers even for such a low stakes thing as this, the points for the 16th placers are displayed in black whether or not the songs in question had deductions x)

Hooray! :cheer: That was a DNQ I really wanted to see in the next round as it's one of my favourite entries that I feel got unlucky. Hooray for the indie folk curse being reversed threefold! I'll try and remember to listen to the other two this time

 

Pretty excellent results on the whole, Rolloland was fine as I expected in the other group and so close to my whole top 10 in my group qualifying!

Ah well I didn’t really hold out much hope, I actually consider that to be my weakest entry of 2021, so am surprised it even made this list. Very pleased with many of the qualifiers though!

tbh i'm just writing this year off and pretending that it never happened and just working on redeeming myself for next year

does Sandenia qualify for our first nul pointer then?

There have been plenty of nul pointers if we include TBO - it got points in its original contest (as has every song to appear in TBO/Rejects, and the few Re:LOADED contests) so it doesn't really count. Flynnonda did get a nul pointer in BJFest which is the only true nul points song in this forum x

 

I am a little surprised there was only one nul pointer in this round given it was a relatively small set of voters picking between 40 rejects!

It was definitely deserving of a second chance! Sorry that my 11 points wasn’t enough to save your other song from qualifying though!

On inspection, Robots In Disguise actually got fewer points in their original contest than most of your other DNQs did oops - it's just the way the cards fell that it was nonetheless your highest position for a DNQ this year (due to some combination of a smaller and/or more top-heavy semi-final I suppose) which was what this was based off. Not sure if that's a systemic problem or if you were just unlucky. Will keep in mind next year. x

 

You'll have another song in the next round anyhoo. (Quarter-finals dropping TBC but soon, need to sort out who is hosting them first :kink:)

Nice to get retribution for that DNQ mere weeks after the fact (also, two entries in a TBO round is a new occurrence for me I think?) so ty for that - even though I didn't manage to vote lel!

Sandénia really didn't deserve last with Why So Serious? Eternally super underrated.

Seven continuing to have the best BJSC taste! I wasn't expecting to get any further (though FAKE TYPE rule and you're all wrong B}), so I'm very happy that my two 18s and most of my high votes managed to go on to potential redemption, though 'Warm Hole' and 'Do For Love' just a single place off is quite unfortunate.

Surprised to see Sody falling out of the first round by a margin given it was a sure qualifier before the reduction in the latest contest :o

 

Obviously overjoyed to see Seize The Power qualifying! It shouldn't have been snubbed a spot in the finals in the first place :(

Omg didn’t expect redemption for Tóxica at all!! It is such a bop, still lowkey furious it didn’t Qual in it’s actual contest

will try to vote next round! really wanted to give bartees strange a chance at redemption (esp considering he would have q'ed if I'd...voted in time) but alas

 

I think I'm just wiped out from joining one (1) contest and qualifying and getting top 20! idk how y'all do it
