Posted December 13, 20213 yr Out on Friday apparently! Could this finally be Twigs' break into the mainstream? https://www.tiktok.com/@fkatwigs/video/7040992816197127429
December 13, 20213 yr Wow another Weeknd collaboration out. I'm hoping for good things quality wise but worry for it won't do much on the charts regardless given his recent results and the fact it might fade fast and therefore be shrouded by the Christmas songs but we'll see. Having said that, surely a good chance at FKA twigs beating their previous best chart high of #34 with Ego Death if its a bop!
December 17, 20213 yr Amazing video as always but I'm not that sold on the song. I do like it, but not as much I was expecting or hoping to. It feels a bit pedestrian compared to her other material. And especially knowing Arca's involved in the production too, I just feel like they're both capable of better.
December 17, 20213 yr Hoping this will grow, it's a bit underwhelming on first listen. I feel like the first verse is the strongest part and then it kinda doesn't really go anywhere else.
December 18, 20213 yr best thing is the video for sure the pole dancing underwater is pure genius! how come nobody did that before!!
December 18, 20213 yr Amazing video as always but I'm not that sold on the song. I do like it, but not as much I was expecting or hoping to. It feels a bit pedestrian compared to her other material. And especially knowing Arca's involved in the production too, I just feel like they're both capable of better. That's pretty much exactly how I'm feeling about it :') At the same time I think it makes sense both of them will tone it down because they want to try to break into the mainstream judging solely on the presence of The Weeknd? I wouldn't put the 3 of them together so this collab seems like an experiment and it could've been executed better.
December 18, 20213 yr Not one of their best songs imo for both artists sadly :( FKA Twigs and The Weeknd I have always seen as similar for a while since 2015 when the production of Weeknds The Hills reminded me of FKA's Two Weeks. Both great productions, if only there was that sort of production in this new song.
December 18, 20213 yr This is so good and the video is amazing! Going to be FKA Twigs' biggest hit for sure. The video already has over 1 million views!
December 31, 20213 yr Author Twigs has announced that her new mixtape 'Capri Sun' will be released on Jan 14th.
December 31, 20213 yr I’m well late to the party but discovered her ‘Magdalene’ album over Christmas. Amazing artpop/avant garde from start to finish especially ‘Home with You’, ‘Fallen Angel’and ‘Cellophane’ Shame she can’t get a big hit but this Weeknd collaboration isn’t that great. January 13, 20223 yr Although album of the week, so-so review of 'Caprisongs' from The Guardian. I think I'd miss the wonderful strangeness and vulnerability of 'Magdalene' but will give it a listen tonight. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/jan/...n-by-weak-songs
