January 1, 20224 yr I told you ALL over and over that Cheesy Fad is bigger than Adele and his album would overtake, and y'all laughed and laughed...
January 1, 20224 yr 'Murder..' certainly deserved to be a #1 over the Robbie Williams schmaltz. (I know it was really held off by Daniel Bedingfield, but he deserved #1 with that song, ideally both him and Sophie would've shared the #1) That Daniel song was trash.
January 1, 20224 yr It’s not as if Adele is going to struggle to put food on the table by virtue of having the #2 album this week Right, she actually made more money this week as #2 album than Sheeran's #1, selling more physical sales (and not being discounted was another plus). :cheer:
January 1, 20224 yr Right, she actually made more money this week as #2 album than Sheeran's #1, selling more physical sales (and not being discounted was another plus). :cheer: I don't mean to burst your bubble but it is much more complex than that as to what an artist earns from a record. Writing credits, playing instruments, producing, the contract on percentage with the label will all determine how much the artist actually earns. Both are filthy rich either way but it is ridiculous the lengths this forum goes to to try and knock Ed.
January 1, 20224 yr I wonder what the Boxing Day chart will look like in 2025 with Christmas falling on a Thursday?
January 1, 20224 yr I know it dropped out this week but I just realised! The first of the K*nts' anti-Boris Johnson songs beat Liam Lynch's United States Of Whatever record for the shortest song to enter the Top 10, then they beat their own record with the second anti-Boris Johnson song.
January 1, 20224 yr Cheesy Fad is despicable. He's not a true artist. He jsut cares about money, trite pop, and the charts. VILE.

Adele has her own label (Melted Stone Ltd.) and owns her masters from this album forward. If you look at the credits for 30's label on spotify it says "2021 Melted Stone under exclusive license to Columbia Records, a Division of Sony Music Entertainment". January 4, 20224 yr Super late but *.* at Jona Lewie finally making the top 40 again for the first time since the song's original release. Quite random that the playlists seemed to be so much more in its favour than usual but I'm certainly not complaining! Also pleased to see The Pogues managing to get as high as #4 for the fourth year in a row (and being solidly re-established as the third highest Xmas classic again after slipping behind Shaky for a week), Brenda Lee finally making the top 5 (she must be one of the oldest artists to get a new top 5 hit, albeit with a song that isn't new at all and in fact was recorded when she was 13 :kink:), Andy Williams and Chris Rea both finally top 10 (both not among my absolute favourite Xmas songs but more than worthy of having top 10 peaks), Sir Sir Paul in the top 20 and the new peaks for The Ronettes, José Feliciano and Dean Martin. I don't mind the Frank Sinatra version of the latter finally cracking the top 40 either although happy that Dean remains higher as his version is the definitive one for me. Lol at LadBaby still collapsing 1-29 despite actually having some streams on their side this time. Still a bigger drop than 'We Built This City' had (although not near as big as their last two of course). That made for a surprisingly interesting post-Xmas chart. But quite happy for things to return to normal again for the next 11 months. Followed by perhaps a return to #1 for 'Merry Christmas' lol
January 4, 20224 yr I actually fear that Ed/Elton song will get reset to SCR and get another three weeks at #1 next December! Adele? Rihanna? Cassandra? Please release a huge instant earworm bop of a Christmas themed tune and save us from this!
January 4, 20224 yr It won't need to be reset as it won't have 9 weeks in the top 100 yet. Will presumably need a reset for 2023 though.
January 4, 20224 yr Ah shit yeah I keep forgetting about that. Fingers crossed most people have forgotten about it next year.
