December 31, 20214 yr Afternoon all :hi: Got to finish work early so I'll aim to tune in, the lack of mids is exciting! Retro top 3s: 2020 01. Little Mix - Sweet Melody 02. Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You 03. Wham! - Last Christmas Little Mix just around the corner from achieving another #1 *.* glad both them and Ariana ('positions') got a turn eventually after being released during the same week. A fabulous song and standout choreography-driven video with a lot of replay-ability, exactly what they needed really. I liked it enough to get a shirt from the MV with my namesake on it. 2016 01. Little Mix - Touch 02. The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk - Starboy 03. Clean Bandit feat. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie - Rockabye Yep a Little Mix double for me, although I'm not massively keen on 'Shout Out To My Ex' elsewhere in this top 10. Otherwise, they were on fire this era! A lot less fond of the 'Touch' video compared to the 'Sweet Melody' one, though :kink: 2011 01. Coldplay - Paradise 02. Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight 03. Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love I was so into the 'Mylo Xyloto' era at the time and was thrilled that Coldplay achieved another #1 hit. Elsewhere, I remember being worried when I heard a teaser for 'Dance With Me Tonight' but it very quickly grew on me in full. Can't believe these songs are 10 years old! I think I was starting my GCSEs by now. I didn't include 'Cannonball' in my top 3 but I found it cool that Little Mix appear in three of these! Really rare girl-group longevity. 2006 01. Take That - Patience 02. Booty Luv - Boogie 2nite 03. Sharam - P.A.T.T. (Party All The Time) 'Patience' was an epic comeback, still holds up as my favourite Take That song. The euphoric dance covers were in full swing also! I think all of these were on Now 66 which is an edition I am very fond of in general. 2001 01. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor 02. Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This 03. Stereophonics - Handbags & Gladrags Not a vintage top 10 for me I must say. I do adore 'Murder On The Dancefloor' though and became a proud owner of the accompanying album on vinyl this year!

December 31, 20214 yr IIRC Murder On The Dancefloor came close to #1 in terms of sales the week after that in the first chart of the New Year but was held off by a similarly rebounding Gotta Get Thru This.
December 31, 20214 yr 'Murder..' certainly deserved to be a #1 over the Robbie Williams schmaltz. (I know it was really held off by Daniel Bedingfield, but he deserved #1 with that song, ideally both him and Sophie would've shared the #1)
