December 31, 20214 yr 36 | 25 | 6th week D-Block Europe featuring Central Cee Overseas 3rd single from Home Alone 2 Released: 19th November 2021 Label: D-Block Europe Chart Statistics NE (02/12/2021) | 8-12-11-12-25-36 Sales: 50k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio __ Sales 15 Audio Streaming 01 Video Streaming Video I4Ra4z2Arqg Biography “We’re the ones that are pushing this boundary,” D-Block Europe’s Young Adz told Apple Music. “People who are signing urban music over here—they call it urban, we call it pop in the streets—that ain’t street music. We’re doing street, UK, wavy music, front-lining it.” They might not consider themselves pop, but by the most literal definition, DBE are just that. Chart positions, sold-out arenas and a nomination for the 2020 BRIT Award for British Group (before they’d even released a debut album) all make them one of UK rap’s most popular acts. D-Block Europe was originally a collective that called upon various London MCs, but Adz and childhood friend Dirtbike LB have emerged as both the engine room and executive board of the operation. They met at Sedgehill School in South London, where Adz was dropping mixtapes from the age of 13. He signed an ultimately fruitless major-label deal at 15 before coming under the patronage of NY rap heavyweight Jadakiss, who offered features, support slots and license to use The LOX’s D-Block Records name. With a series of self-released singles and mixtapes, Young Adz and Dirtbike LB took their place at UK rap’s top table during the late 2010s. Leavening trap’s chilly textures and portraits of road life with sticky Auto-Tuned hooks, their music is notable for its nimble wordplay and candour. While D-Block quickly gathered notoriety for their unfiltered bedroom braggadocio (“Kitchen Kings”), their willingness to open up about mental health and therapy (“Prescription Drugs”) has made them a standout presence in UK rap. It’s all been done independently by the industrious duo (63 new tracks released across three mixtapes during 2019 alone). They’ve continuously waved away offers from labels, confident that no one can guide their career as well as they can. Every award, Top 5 release or filled arena only strengthens their self-belief. “When you see Messi kick ball, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” said Young Adz. “Sometimes, the people have to choose you because they’re like, ‘We ain’t never going to see this again—from their sounds, from what they talk about.’ Our personalities shine through our music. We’re bigger personalities than rappers.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History D-Block Europe 2018 49 Gucci Mane (D-Block Europe & Yxng Bane) -1- 2018 35 Nassty (D-Block Europe, Young Adz, Dirtbike LB & Lil Pino) -NAS- 2018 80 Tell The Truth (The Plug presents D-Block Europe & Rich The Kid) 2019 16 Kitchen Kings -1- 2019 62 Kettle Pouring -AT- 2019 70 Running Man -AT- 2019 20 Home P*ssy -1- 2019 53 Rich (The Plug presents D-Block Europe & Offset) 2019 16 Nookie (feat. December 31, 20214 yr Let It Snow must be one of the biggest Christmas songs each year when combined with 2 versions always doing well
December 31, 20214 yr This version of the song feels a bit strange having only been familiar with the Dean Martin version before! Frank Sinatra a new entry in 2021 though  Sinatra was singing....
December 31, 20214 yr Skipping Kelly/Ari for D Block Europe is homophobic x (seriously though what a downgrade -_- glad 'Santa, Can't You Hear Me' swiftly got a new peak anyway!)
December 31, 20214 yr Christmas isn't officially over for another six days! I've certainly still got my festive playlist on repeat. For me, Xmas is over on Boxing Day
December 31, 20214 yr Anyhow, late but the Dean Martin version of Let It Snow is far superior, we really didn't need Frank's version in as well. Shouldn't it be (as per the Apple chart): Frank Sinatra (with the B. Swanson Quartet) [with the B. Swanson Quartet] [with the B. Swanson Quartet] [with the B. Swanson Quartet] [with the B. Swanson Quartet]Also this! Lol at them skipping one of the couple of actual new Christmas songs this week though. I hope you're all ready for DBE to sail back into the top 10 next week...
December 31, 20214 yr Christmas has always ended on New Year's Day at our house, that's when the tree and all the decs come down etc...
December 31, 20214 yr D-Block Europe being one of the only non-Christmas songs played. Utterly grim. :puke2: I'm tempted to check out.

She was exhausted, numb, self-medicating. She’d had some success, but the trade-off—touring, promotion, life without privacy—felt too steep. She thought about suicide. Then an idea came along: Why put so much of herself on the line when she could just try writing for someone else? Even after coming back to the stage as a solo artist, Furler maintained a degree of playful detachment: The big wigs, the reluctance to show her face. But the music was real, empathetic, even heroic—anthems of vulnerability and self-empowerment that handled huge feelings with a lightness that made it seem like she was dancing slightly above the ground. Pop songs are fantasies, she seemed to say. But they also get us through. Born in Adelaide, Australia, in 1975, Furler started out singing in a local acid-jazz band called Crisp before moving to London, joining the trip-hop group Zero 7 while starting a solo career. Her early albums—off-kilter pop with hints of folk, electronica and jazz—did fine, but it wasn’t until she started writing for other artists that her career took off. Beyoncé (“Pretty Hurts”), Britney Spears (“Perfume”), Katy Perry (“Double Rainbow“), Rihanna (“Diamonds”): Furler’s writing made for some of the most bright-lined, all-caps pop of the 2010s, while her own tracks (“Chandelier”, “The Greatest”, “Alive”, “Unstoppable”) set new standards for playacting in pop performance, making her—a queer woman whose self-professed higher power is a surfing, Santa Claus-like figure called Whatever Dude—not just a songwriter, but also a kind of oddball role model for anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t quite fit in. She said a producer once claimed that it wasn’t fair for her to be able to turn out a song in 20 minutes and get the royalty split she did. Maybe so, Furler clapped back—but getting to those 20 minutes took her 15 years. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2000 10 Taken For Granted -1- 2000 82 Little Man -2- 2001 91 Drink to Get Drunk -3- 2001 30 Destiny (Zero 7 feat. December 31, 20214 yr First time hearing this in any capacity as I haven't come across it on TikTok before! I only started using it earlier this year so missed it taking off on there last year. Sounds... fine so far but not quite leaving as much of an instant impression as 'Santa's Coming For Us'
