I don't think I've seen a song I voted for yet. Some great number 4s have fallen though (some total noise scored points too!!).....the following I have a real soft spot for:

Cliff Richard - Carrie,

Sean Paul - Get Busy

Zoe - Sunshine On A Rainy Day

Lenny Kravitz - Are You Gonna Go My Way

Athlete - Wires

McFly featuring Taio Cruz - Shine A Light

Breathe - Hands To Heaven

And these three were very close to scoring votes from me:

Electric Light Orchestra - Hold On Tight

Eternal - Stay

Five Star - The Slightest Touch

I was also the one to give the Jacksons - I'll be there points, so glad to see I wasn't actually the only one!

So many people (including me) sad to see Wires go out early, but evidently virtually none of us were bothered enough to vote for it!

With the Oasis and Jimmy Ruffin songs dropping out now, I've lost at least half of the songs that I could have lost at this early stage. Unique taste...?

Big Fun - Blame It On The Boogie

The Bee Gees - For Whom The Bell Tolls

Coldplay & Rihanna - Princess Of China

Diddy-Dirty Money featuring Skylar Grey – Coming Home

The Glitter Band - Angel Face

Olly Murs featuring Demi Lovato - Up

The Orb - Toxygene

Pitbull - I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)

Stereophonics - Pick A Part That's New

This was meant to be a remix of Oxygene Part 8 but it was rejected by Jean-Michel Jarre as there was hardly any trace of the original recording. Instead, The Orb released it as a single themselves and it gave them their highest chart placing. Gary Glitter's backing band had six top 10 hits of their own and Angel Face was the first of them in 1974.

Atomic Kitten - Love Doesn't Have To Hurt

A Great Big World featuring Christina Aguilera – Say Something

The Bay City Rollers - I Only Wanna Be With You

Kate Bush - King Of The Mountain

Kula Shaker - Tattva

Shawn Mendes – There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back

Roachford - Cuddly Toy

Steps – Say You'll Be Mine / Better the Devil You Know

S Club 8 - Sundown

Sugababes - Red Dress

Texas / Texas featuring The Wu-Tang Clan – Insane / Say What You Want (All Day Every Day)

Robbie Williams - Supreme

From 2005, this was Kate Bush's first single release for 12 years and her first solo top 10 hit since Running Up That Hill in 1985. The Bay City Rollers cover of I Only Want To Be With You is here, the original version also got to number 4 and is still to come. Elsewhere, there is an abundance of 2000s pop acts.

'Up' is the first one from my votes dropping out, gave 4 points to it. I Like the Shawn, Sugababes and Texas tracks from that last bunch and plenty more good'uns that I didn't comment on yesterday too.

Elton John - Song For Guy

Kelis - Caught Out There

Lighthouse Family - Lifted

Rod Stewart - Angel / What Made Milwaukee Famous (Has Made A Loser Out Of Me)

Gwen Stefani featuring Eve - Rich Girl

Sunblock - I'll Be Ready

Simon Webbe - No Worries

From 1978, this is the first of three Elton John number 4s to receive votes. Mainly an instrumental, Elton had written it the day before his record company's 17 year old messenger boy, Guy Burchett, was killed in a motorcycle accident. The Lighthouse Family's 'Lifted' also appears, they have another song to come.

I gave a high score to No Worries by Simon Webbe which is a real forgotten gem.

Other highlights in 17-19:

Lifted

Say Something

King of the Mountain

There’s Nothing Holding me Back

Supreme

Princess of China

Up

'Lifted' another one of my votes out :(

'Caught Out There' and 'No Worries' are fab too. In fact I'd say NW is the best solo single from any of Blue. The album was solid too.

AC/DC - Highway To Hell

Backstreet Boys - Shape Of My Heart

Dire Straits - Money For Nothing

Jason Derulo - It Girl

Fox - S-S-S-Single Bed

Peter Gabriel - Games Without Frontiers

Shakira - She Wolf

U2 - Stay (Faraway, So Close!)

From 1980, inspired by the Pan-European TV show, this features vocals from Kate Bush who appeared earlier today. We also have the quirky S-S-S-Single Bed by Fox from 1976 and Dire Straits excellent Money For Nothing from 1985. Highway To Hell only got to number 56 when first released in 1979. Its number 4 peak came in 2013. U2 have five number 4 singles, four of which received votes and Stay is the first of those to appear.

U2 actually had six number 4s: the three from the 1980s which are still in, two from the mid-2000s, and Stay (which I didn't think had any other voters). I nearly gave some points to Highway To Hell.
Oh no I gave 'Dog Eat Dog' all of its points :nocheer: the quickfire chorus took a bit of getting used to when I was first delving into Adam's discography but it's a firm favourite now!

Basement Jaxx - Rendez-Vu

Blue - All Rise

Cher - Gypsys, Tramps And Thieves

Jamiroquai - Canned Heat

Mika - We Are Golden

Alexander O'Neal - Criticize

TQ - Westside

From 1987, this was Alexander O'Neal's highest charting single. That's also the case for Rendez-Vu by Basement Jaxx. Just two points ahead of Simon Webbe are his group, Blue, with All Rise.

Clean Bandit - Stronger

Donovan - Catch The Wind

Eminem - We Made You

Girls Aloud - Wake Me Up

Loud Luxury featuring Brando - Body

Modern Talking - Brother Louie

Madness - Embarrassment

The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes

Stan Ridgway - Camouflage

Kelly Rowland featuring Eve - Like This

This song was written about one of the band member's sisters who had been shunned by the rest of her family for becoming pregnant with a black man's child. Like Robbie Williams, Eminem has seven number 4 singles. Four of them received votes but none of them have done very well and We Made You is the highest placed.

Jonas Blue featuring William Singe - Mama

Earth Wind And Fire with The Emotions - Boogie Wonderland

Dr Kucho! & Gregor Salto featuring Ane Brun – Can't Stop Playing (Makes Me High)

The Streets - Fit But You Know It

Ed Sheeran featuring Chance the Rapper & PnB Rock – Cross Me

This was one of four top 5 singles for Earth Wind And Fire. On the list, the only song in between their two number 4s is Girls Talk by Dave Edmunds. The Emotions still have their own song to come.

All Saints - I Know Where It's At

Abba - Does Your Mother Know

Mariah Carey - My All

Johnny Cash - A Boy Named Sue

DNCE - Cake By The Ocean

Galantis - No Money

Ocean Colour Scene – Hundred Mile High City

Martha Reeves and the Vandellas - Dancing In The Street

Rocker's Revenge featuring Donnie Calvin - Walking On Sunshine

Robbie Williams - Come Undone

In retrospect, it's a surprise that this only got to number 28 when it was first released in 1964. Its number 4 peak came in 1969. Mariah Carey has five number 4 singles. Four of those received votes with My All the first to drop out. Does Your Mother Know is the only Abba song to peak at number 4.

Walking On Sunshine paid dust :/ sure it's not as well known as its late 80s namesake, but its production was years ahead of its time.
Some strong departures in the 24 point group! Bit surprised ABBA and All Saints didn't get a bit higher. Always pleased to see OCS in a rate but this is far from one of their best songs imo
