November 27, 20222 yr Ashanti - 'Only U' finally being silver! :cheeseblock: It's taken almost 18 years! It reached #2 but only sold 64,700 copies in 2005, making it the 86th best seller of that year. Great to see Jamelia - 'Superstar' with a platinum certification. :wub: Just under 3 years on from it certifying gold. 2xPlatinum seems well overdue for 'Don't Cha'! 8 and a half years since it went Platinum. I'm happy that Mariah's version of 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' has been getting more attention in the UK over the past couple of years. Fabulous to see it become silver certified. I'm guessing after this Christmas it'll be within her Top 20 best sellers? :o 'Life for Rent' is one of my favourite Dido songs, that silver certification has been 19 years in the making. Celine Dion - 'I'm Alive' deserved so much more success than it got back in 2002. It didn't make the US Billboard Hot 100! :o Although I see it did find some success in Europe, notably #2 in Belgium and #4 in Germany. It didn't really help the 'A New Day Has Come' album out much in the UK. While the album climbed to #22 a week after 'I'm Alive' charted, it was out of the Top 100 just five weeks later. So 'I'm Alive' didn't exactly encourage lots of album sales. I'm not sure why it didn't connect here at the time. I'm glad that there's way more appreciation for it 20 years later. It is in 5th place on her Spotify, and I guess it must sell more on a weekly basis here than 'Think Twice' does (and that was a 7 week #1!).
