Posted January 13, 20223 yr The Kunts recently alluded to a #1 campaign for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee to happen this year, with a song about Prince Andrew. Now it’s been confirmed! @1481728523320582145
January 13, 20223 yr Wonder what MOR act will release a song which will be the Platinum Jubilee No1, surely not Gary Barlow again?
January 14, 20223 yr presumably titled Prince Andrew Is A f***ing Nonce then but could they legally get away with that?
January 14, 20223 yr If they just change the lyrics from their top 5 Christmas smash, using the "Rock and Roll (Part Two)" backing track would be even more appropriate here.....
January 14, 20223 yr I'm not here for this. I have no problem with them releasing such a song if they like but to try and tie it in with tainting the queen's platinum jubilee is not cool in my eyes.

So presumably you would have been against God Save The Queen and supported the BBTory in banning it?
January 14, 20223 yr That's not the same thing in my eyes - this is taking a particularly grim act that one person is being charged for and using it as a reason to worsen someone else's event. Obviously I haven't heard it yet but I'm assuming it is purely focused on Prince Andrew and not the monarchy in general. But generally, I think I probably do have quite a lot of respect for the Queen as an individual. I don't see why that needs to have any sort of Tory political angle attached to it?

This - I think tying it in with The Queens celebrations is a step too far for me. Hopefully the wider will GP feel the same way.
January 14, 20223 yr Author I've just found that The Kunts performed 'Prince Andrew is a Sweaty Nonce' live a couple of months back, so I presume it'll be titled that.
January 14, 20223 yr Chart Preview: 1. BBC All Stars ft The Commonwealth Zoom Band- Platinum (The Official Platinum Jubilee Anthem) *NEW* 2. The Kunts- Prince Andrew Is A Sweaty Nonce *NEW* 3. Rihanna- I'm Back Bitches (1) 4. Cassandra Jenkins- Summer Pudding (2) 5. Ed Sheeran- I'd Rather Jack (Than Fleetwood Mac) (4) You heard it here first.
January 14, 20223 yr Oh boo hoo if it coincides with the Queen's platinum jubilee. Again well done to them for addressing an important point in a direct and succinct way.
January 14, 20223 yr They might have a good chance of getting #1 with this. There probably wont be any other songs getting a special boost in the charts in June like there are at Christmas time.
January 14, 20223 yr I’m almost certain there will be some MOR official jubilee charity effort that will probably bugger their chances of getting #1 even if it does really take off. Could outpeak their Boris songs though.
January 14, 20223 yr I reckon if it wasn't quite so offensive and was a good tune then it could do a RATM style no.1 even above an official Jubilee song as a huge number of people are sick of the establishment, bowing to the wealthy, the hypocrisy and the media hype. Or it could be a fascinating chart battle.
April 27, 20223 yr Author Officially confirmed for May 27th! So it will be in the chart for the Queen's Jubilee weekend. @1519338221964083201
April 28, 20223 yr Whereas God Save the Queen was a furious articulation of working class frustration targeted at a privileged establishment (not the actual monarch or her jubilee), like all of Kunt and the Gang's recent songs, this is basically playground name-calling in the pursuit of attention and I fail to see any worth in it. It isn't particularly funny, has nothing of any note to say and I really don't see the point in it.
April 28, 20223 yr ?? So presumably you would have been against God Save The Queen and supported the BBTory in banning it? It wasn't just the BBC though - nobody on independent radio playlisted it either. Only pirate stations would actively play it. People always say it was banned but this is a bit of a lie. The BBC had a policy of standards and the song fell foul of it and therefore wouldn't be played but the BBC never actually banned any songs.
April 28, 20223 yr Interesting, but is it really gonna get enough interest to chart high? The Boris Johnson song fair enough, everyone knows he’s an absolute clown, but prince Andrew isn’t as hated so will it get as many sales to chart?
