Speaking of the track Sofia says:

"This song is about my mother, her mother, my sisters who are mothers, my brothers who are mothers, and all the LGBTQIA+ members who are mothers to their communities. Madres has no gender. Madres loves to protect the ones you love.

If you get lost, follow your mother's voice, they will always bring you back.

I also want to dedicate this song to Peter Vajkoczy, a brain surgeon who has become the hope of my own mother! He gives people hope by daring the most complicated surgeries in the world; he believes in miracles, love, and the strength to protect loved ones.

Life goes by quickly. Life is fragile."

New single Vajkoczy out now. More lush and immaculate vibes from the Peruvian queen

Also noticed Si Te Portas Bonito is on 6 Music's A-list! Loving their continued support of Sofia

I am loving “Si Te Portas Bonito” and especially the meaning behind the lyrics, I know little Spanish unfortunately but apparently it roughly translates to 'if you behave nice/decently'.

The previous single “Madres” was also beautiful too, both solid singles! Looking forward to the album.

Have you been reading Zanmatony’s thread out of interest? :P

Her lyrics are inspiring and powerful. I love how Vajkoczy is related to the story of Madres and dedicated to the brain surgeon who helped Sofia's mother. I relate to it SO much

I missed the spin-off unfortunately, but I have been following Sofia since the stunning “La Perla” was sent to BJSC in 2021, the vibe/sound of that reminded me of one of my fave Chemical Brothers tracks “Star Guitar”.

I didn't know the story behind Vajkoczy but that would make sense with the album title, really looking forward to the album. I love that her music encapsulates so much emotion, something that people often criticise electronica for not having, but this is straight at the heart stuff, I love it.

This is really shaping up to be a fantastic album. How Music Makes You Feel Better is the best of the lot so far
