Biography

Dozens of British artists share Adele’s origins—BRIT School, MySpace, pop stardom—but it takes rare talent to have your voice declared timeless in your career’s first flush. Adele honed hers as a kid in her North London bedroom, imitating Etta James every night for an hour. But as soon as she made her televised debut in 2007 (on Later...With Jools Holland), all potential comparisons evaporated: This girl with the whopping hoop earrings and a pub landlady’s brashness had something unique. Heartbreak, indignation, and regret all found a natural home in her regal mezzo-soprano, the instrument that powered her 2008 debut album, 19, and took influence from the American South on 2011’s 21. Both of these albums broke records for breaking records, and made a subsequent operation on Adele’s vocal cords a matter of global import. She recovered immaculately—for proof, watch her comeback performance of “Rolling in the Deep” at the 2012 Grammys—and it took just one word to reintroduce her in 2015. “Hello,” she sang during an X Factor ad break, unveiling her world-conquering single and third album, 25, in the process. Like its predecessors, 25 upended 21st-century metrics and made Adele the first artist to earn the top-selling album of a calendar year three times. She’s now a mother, and her twenties are behind her. But if any voice were ever capable of carrying its owner into maturity, it’s hers. - Apple Music

Hmm... Adele not getting that major post-album hit just yet.
surprised Oh my God is down despite the huge Spotify support this week (track #1 on HH)
'Oh My God' is really not a great track - one of her weakest in fact.

Biography

Capitalising on his success on the social media app TikTok: UK rapper and Liverpool native HAZEY releases his debut single “Packs and Potions"—which is essentially the full version of his viral verse from the freestyle “Lone Ranger”. As he raps over a funky Brazilian-inspired beat in his distinct Scouse accent, HAZEY discusses his penchant for hustling/making money by any means and grinding/consistently working hard until it pays off. - Genius

Is this going to be top 10 next week?
Why does he hide his face?

Meatloaf classics a much welcome addition to the chart, of course for sad reasons but still good to see them making nonetheless.

Both Sound so good as they always have

Glad to see new peaks for Tiesto and Galantis too. 'Heat Waves' & a few others need to be gone now.

Edited by Roba.

Well this is in intolerable. You can just go on a round of free association and keep saying “like … “random proper noun” and call it a hit

2 Yard Act - The Overload

3 Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell

4 Ed Sheeran - =

5 Meat Loaf - Hits Out of Hell

It's a shame Oh My God doesn't seem to be catching on much as a post-album single, it's still one of my favourites from the album. Not too surprised though, for all her undeniable singles success she is still more of an albums artist.
I'm actually quite enjoying Hazey - it's nice to hear some different regional accents in rap, rather than the standard South London. Plus I find the drums in the song to be almost hypnotic

Biography

Acraze AKA Charlie Duncker, is showing to be a true visionary as he conquered the bold transition from his speaker-rattling bass sound to a more sophisticated house approach. Even before its official release, the now viral smash “Do It To It” on Thrive Music, spread like wildfire around the world. From every DJ, to influencer, to media outlet, the budding artist is proving to have an undeniable impact in the current global dance music scene. Acraze’s anthem went from being coined first as the ‘Song of the Summer’ to now ‘Song of the Year’ for 2021. Although Acraze is only 26 years-old, this moment did not come overnight. He grew up grinding the DJ circuit across the country, while developing his sound and collaborating with other rising producers.
