'Stronger' - Stunning ballad complete with rich sweeping strings & all 3 girls are given a chance to shine vocally, with such elegant production this was a firm fave of my mine upon the album's release & was so pleased when it got picked as the next single.

It's #7 peak felt criminally low as I thought this should have at least went top 5, but looking at the week it came out there were a lot of big hits ahead of it such as 'Christina Aguilera - Dirrty' which was #1 that week & 'Nelly & Kelly Rowland - Dilemma', 'DJ Sammy - Heaven' & 'Las Ketchup' were all in the top 5. The awful Blazin Squad were the highest new entry that week at #6 & Kylie Minogue was just behind the Sugababes at #8 with 'Come Into My World'.

So looking back it was a very tough week & thankfully Sugababes managed to hit the top 10 at the very least, with a healthy 9 week run in the top 40. Here's a link below to the charts the week it came out.

UK Top 100 - 11/11/02

Edited by Nina West

Im torn in that third feels too low but yet it’s not as if the last two are terrible. The top 3 are absolute moments and at the pinnacle of their output. Whatever order they came out in it was always gonna feel rough on the two not at the top.

Stronger is one my absolute all time favourite songs. It is just pure uplifting powerful magic. And the Siobhan live version? Still makes me absolutely piss weak at the knees. It’s majestic

Blazin' Squad pipping them and Kylie to highest new entry! :drama:

It's crazy to imagine a time when they (and acts like them) were very much a thing.

Don’t think I’ve heard the Siobhan version. I need to check it out.

Are we ever gonna get the final results, fully backing 'Freak Like Me' - one of the greatest pop songs of the decade to top this.

02. ROUND ROUND

01. FREAK LIKE ME

Apologies we don't have the ratings, as advised I haven't got access to my work drive whilst off unwell so will reveal them as soon as I can!

It’s no worries!!

No major surprises there really. Round Round is a truly amazing track but Freak is just a bit special

I agree! It still sounds so fresh and current and unique (yes I know it’s a mash up of two tracks but it still doesn’t sound like really anything else that was put out there. Richard X really at his peak)
For me it sounds fresher than it did 20 years ago, though that may be because I’ve only just started to fully appreciate it.
Both 'Freak Like Me' & 'Round Round' are masterpieces of pop & nothing else to say really they were the obvious contenders for the top spot with the right one winning in the end. Loved taking part in this & can't wait for the 'Three' rate.
