With Griff & Sigrid's excellent 'Head On Fire' looking like it's finally going to crack the top 20 this week, it joins quite a short list of top 20 hits with 'On Fire' in the title. Inspired by a recent comment in the chart predictions thread, I've made a list of these. Which are your favourites? Personally I love the 5000 Volts track, it's a disco classic! Obviously KoL and Alicia Keys too.

 

EDIT: Just after I posted this, I saw that 'Head On Fire' has dropped to #27 in the Monday mids, typical :lol: let's go with it being an honorary top 20 hit anyway!

I don't think I know a lot of those but the Griff and KOL (yes I know it's overplayed etc but I still enjoy it to some extent) ones for me.

 

Alicia's is one of her worst songs imo oops far too shouty!

This was definitely rather premature, with the boost being primarily because of the CD release I wouldn't be confident that 'Head On Fire' will even be top 40 by the end of the week... :kink:

 

I only know (or at least recognise from the title) a couple of these (i.e. the most recent ones) but Kings Of Leon is the best of the ones I know x

I really hate “Sex on Fire” despite liking KoL output prior to then.

 

Went for Stevie Nicks. The song is quite magical.

Bruce Springsteen is the best one by miles and miles, surprised people don't know it,

has great lyrics too ("Sometimes it's like someone took a knife, baby, edgy and dull

And cut a six-inch valley through the middle of my skull")

 

love Kings of Leon, but Sex on Fire is beyond bad.

Would you believe I'm On Fire was the lead track in the double A-side with Born In The USA, you can tell why radio went with the latter, though it's still marvellous. I voted for that and KoL :)

I voted for Springsteen, Nick's & Driscoll. Surprised not many have voted for This Wheels On Fire (written by Bob Dylan) I grew up with it as another version by Driscoll was used in the 90s as the theme to Absolutely Fabulous. :D

I know Kasabian's song is just titled "Fire" but the lyrics are "I'm on fire" and would have voted for that is was included!
