Kathy should have been in witness protection, though I guess they wouldn’t have been able to use it for Cindy in that case.

But even her reminder of the ‘abusive relationship’ tonight only reminded me of how horrendously her return was handled and what a joke Gavin was. It’s easier to pretend she was never dead.

They’re definitely getting Cindy’s return right.

Excellent episode!!! Cindy and Kathy scenes were absolutely fantastic, some of the minor gripes I had had were covered (more references to Steven and Cindy Jr etc...) and the whole build up to that final moment was executed very well.

They are killing Cindy's return storyline so far tbh and agreed that it's night and day with what they came up with for Kathy.

Excellent episode and i agree they so far have handled Cindys return really well, only a couple of episodes in its miles ahead of Kathys return but i agree with others its just easier to pretend Kathy was never dead as i do like having her back on the show. I do have to say one big thing i will miss about Cindys return is not having Pat Butcher around, id love scenes with her Cindy and Kathy.

Tonight's episode is so good! The Ending was proper :o

Also

Flashbacks... and a random scene with a character from 2014. Which was so tongue in cheek and funny :D

Amazing episode, wow! Loved the ending and

the flashback, and the way they edited old footage of Ian in so it looked more realistc. And OMG at that character return in the flashback, perfectly done

Loved the graveyard scene at the start. I think Lucy dying whilst Cindy was in witness protection is one of the most interesting strands of this storyline and it's clearly something that's shaped the character of Cindy and is constantly going to be an undertone to all future scenes.

I enjoyed Cindy looking around the area where she had Ian shot by a hitman! Probably thinking she'll have to think of another stunt next time she gets sick of him given that road has been pedestrianised now.

Cindy vs. Kathy was great. I thought Kathy's initial reaction was spot on, loved the double take and the delivery of "you're dead...you died!". Also enjoyed Cindy's remark about Kathy's own fake death as well "I heard Ben turned out a right psycho because of you". The two of them bonding over regret about Lucy's death felt right too, I think it was needed to balance out the camp moments that preceded it. I thought both Gillian Taylforth and Michelle Collins did great work during their scenes, they both know their characters inside out and really tapped back into that old history effortlessly.

Great start to the week and tonight's episode is twice as good! Will share my thoughts after its aired tonight.

Do we think Cindy knows it was Bobby who killed Lucy then? She only referenced she knows it was an "accident" to George.

I'd be very surprised if Ian or Peter have kept it a secret from her. I can only think there's going to be some extended fallout from Cindy and The Knights about Bobby's involvement

I wondered that too but would assume Cindy would be following the news updates after finding out, they wouldn’t have named Bobby as he was underaged but she would have been able to work it out from his age. Also would assume Ian or Peter would have told her too.

Another excellent episode, its these types of episodes that remind us why we love the show, im loving excitement of waiting for the next episode to see whats next.
Tonight's episode was so good! The Fatboy cameo and flashback :cheeseblock: The ending was perfect as well, no doubt setting up for a classic Queen Vic fallout/confrontation tomorrow.

AMAZING.

Those flashbacks were brilliant. Old Ian footage, Fatboy’s appearance (I had read he’d been seen on set a while ago and I just completely dismissed the rumour and this is the last way I would have imagined his return) and just-the detail! I was a bit sceptical about Cindy returning initially because I kept thinking ‘why now?’ But the storylining so far has been so careful and well done, it’s done a lot of work to make this make sense. This is the care and detail that was left out of Kathy’s return hence why that initially fell flat.

The ending has me perched for tomorrow. Loved the briefs looks from the likes of Phil, Sharon and Sonia who remember Cindy from before.

Eastenders is in such good hands with Chris Clenshaw. Even without this storyline, the show has been firing on all cylinders.

Another amazing episode and the flashback with the random appearance of Fatboy

Looking forward for the Ian, Phil, and Sharon confrontation :D tomorrow, the FALLOUT

This topic needs splitting past its 50th page, maybe its best to split it from the previous page with the current story line.
Also after watching that last clip again-Cindy just PUSHING Tracy out of the way. ICONIC.
The way this story has unfolded this week so far is just superb, completely gripping. The Fatboy appearance too :o I felt a bit emotional when he alluded to living with Dot at the time!

This doesn't need to happen nowadays, Phil's said the server can handle bigger threads so we don't need to split anything!

Fully agree with all of the praise in this thread, the show's been firing on all cylinders this week and it's really paying off. It's satisfying even as someone who obviously didn't watch Cindy in it before! Can't wait to see what happens next, can't believe I'm actually excited about each new EastEnders episode again.
