I’ve always kind of not wanted that character to return given the first arc was so perfect and I always feared producers would mess it up. But if anyone can do it, it’s Clenshaw. And the history does kind of fit with current storylines.

That is very true. Even though it's been a dream return of mine, a part of me also thinks is it best to leave her in the past so not to spoil her perfect first arc. I think it would be easy to reduce the character to a cold blooded murder when in fact all her actions were out of desperation and years of abuse. Clenshaw has got the character of Cindy just right, who again could have been brought back as a two dimensional 'bitch', so I have confidence he'll do the same here.

 

Very much looking forward to seeing how this ties in with The Six and also interesting that it seems the character has been in prison all this time (might be realistic in real time but not in the soap world).

I think he will see her return with great scenes as the actress wouldn't return for a poor storyline as she doesn't need to.

Agreed, i'm optimistic that the story will have been strong enough to lure her back in with this one. Plus we've had some good return stints recently like Bianca's. I mean Lauren is a case of a rather aimless return I guess, what on earth has she done in half a year apart from shag Zack? But I think there's tons of reasons to be optimistic about getting THAT character back.

I agree on both, her character is much more iconic than Lauren and id say the storyline was pitched to her in advance of her agreeing to return and with how strong the show is under Chris, if you are returning now is the time as i have a feeling we will get epic episodes for the 40th anniversary.

Lauren really would work better if she just did guest appearances as she isnt needed full time and doesnt really add much, huge shame that it was decided to kill of Abi instead of Lauren as Abi had far more potential as a character, talking of them i do have a feeling Max will be back for the 40th.
