March 9, 20223 yr Author The winner's track is out and....gosh... They've not even let Blu keep her accent.
March 9, 20223 yr im v happy for blu  she killed thé season and it’s sad that she has been overshadowed by the drama honestly. she wasn’t my fav or my pick going into this but i love what she represents and her passion for drag shone through more than anyone else this season. watching thé finale i really began rooting for baga too hah. she was genuinely hilarious this episode and showed her fun side. juju and mo were also great, i just don’t think either showed their best this season. production should really have given more to blu over the season (at least a win in the rusical / rumix) to make it make more sense i admit. thé season has been enjoyable overall, and i’m sure we are gonna see more of lemon / jimbo / pangina moving forward.
March 9, 20223 yr Author Tbh, I do think it was well-deserved for Blu. Her placements should have reflected better in the season to make it a more rewarding narrative. I tend to score the seasons as we go and realistically, for me at least, I would have scored her HIGH-TOP2-HIGH-TOP2-TOP2 in advance of the final, which would have been a much more satisfying track. Janey's top 2 in the ball for me was a bit bs and Juju getting a top 2 placement for a two line verse and just an ok dress... no thanks.
March 9, 20223 yr Blu is such a lacklustre winner. Something about "she did the same as Pangina did to Jimbo" doesn't quite work for me because Pangina was an actual front runner who eliminated someone who was actually the worst after doing a bulletproof lip sync herself. Like, logically, it's true, it's a game. But it just makes Blu's overall win feel so undeserved, whereas Pangina could have snatched the crown and it would have been one of the most deserved wins in Drag Race history. She is a nicely polished, inoffensive queen but has very little star power. Even Jujubee operating at 10% in her Primark dresses has more charisma than Blu. Edited March 9, 20223 yr by 365
March 9, 20223 yr This is v interesting.... as much frantic energy blu gave in thr lip sync i was still very happy for her winning and tbh I think like Chad Micheals a good firstcwin for this kind of all stars. She is very charasmtic so I don't understand the comments as such saying she isnt and isnt worthy of the win?? She played the game and did it well, ovbs I woulda loved Jimbo, Pangina or Janey top 4 over some of the others but Mo and Blu was the most consistant other than them so I am glad they was top 2 and Blu won. As for Jimbo in untucked she has done this type of thing before so im suprised at the hate?? I am sure its meant to be in a shady playful way. I also understand if a queen of color had same energy they would get death threats which isnt okay. So I understand how fans are annoyed at people saying its iconic when QOC are getting hate for doing simular things. No hate should be presented to anyone at all over a reality tv show. Also whats it Ru and kylie random choices.

I agree 100%, Jimbo is not comparable because flat out she was just the worst in that challenge. If it was a normal lipsync for your life and she was saved, it would be rigged so why should she have been saved here? But of course riggory is fine for a white fan fave I suppose. As I said in my post, the problem is she has seen what inciting hate like that can do because of Drag Race Canada, but still does it, and to queens of colour no less who already get hate, death threats and god knows what fo doing nothing at all. She knows what her fanbase/the fanbase in general are like and it is so irresponsible to carry on the way she did when her elimination was actually fair. It's a very thin line I think but Jimbo toed it and you can see the intention behind that behaviour wasn't a good intention.
March 10, 20223 yr The only way to fix this season imo would have been to have at least 10 episodes and more filler queens so that the frontrunners don't end up in the bottom that early. I don't get why a season of Drag Race nowadays needs to only get 6 episodes? People are going to watch it.
March 10, 20223 yr I read that it was a test to see if the format worked, which they did do with All Stars 1, however that was 10 years ago and the show is insanely popular compared to then, plus international All Stars is something the fans have wanted for a while now since we got Drag Race UK! And testing it on a series with no prize was surely not the best idea. Funnily enough, if anything, it has soured people's view of an international All Stars, certainly one on the BBC anyway. I think there not being a prize was an issue, why would you try as hard for a song with RuPaul as you would for 100k? I'm sure they knew whenthey signed up there wouldn't be a prize so idk why they did it, maybe after lockdowns etc they wanted to get out and do some drag but didn't so much care about throwing themselves in and winning it? I know Juju was going through a lot before she left too, it's a perfect storm of things really that just made it a really disappointing season for something that was so hyped. It has me worried if they do a UK All Stars, why would the likes of Bimini and Tayce for example who are doing so many amazing things take time out of their schedule for basically nothing? I know it's the rules the BBC can't have prizes, maybe it should be on another channel but I can't see the BBC letting it go since Drag Race is a huge part of the reason why BBC3 is back on TV.
March 10, 20223 yr I’ve been thinking about it and the season has its own right to be and it might even be important. In a grand scheme of things wouldn’t you appreciate later seasons more after a dud? Admittedly it’s not the best way to start another competition but drag race fans are loyal so it’s not like we won’t watch season 2 like come on now! 😂 It was a failed first iteration but let’s hope it was the plan all along.
