Have seen people on the Facebook Now group ordering all 10 variations at a cost of over £250!

As I don't plan on raiding a bank any time soon, I'll have to pick a few, the four decade vinyls are attractive but I haven't really got nearly £140 to shell out on them a month before Christmas, so I'll have to mull it over and probably just get a few of the CDs.

Out of curiosity, and by comparison... how does this anniversary release compare with the past anniversary releases to mark 10 years, 20 years, 25 years and 30 years?

Only difference is that the 40 years has only used songs from all 115 volumes whereas previous anniversary editions also used songs which never appeared on the main series

I find it weird that the Now 40 Years: 2013-2023 has Kill Bill and Boy's a Liar to represent Now 114. Should've replaced both of them with Escapism. and Calm Down.

Also, no We Don't Talk About Bruno for Now 111, even though Let It Go is on there to represent Now 88. Maybe it's wasn't featured due to there wasn't enough room fit the all the artists on the back cover.

About Black Eyed Peas on volume 3, they’re on there with I Gotta Feeling but the regular Now 40 Years has Where Is The Love? They should either replace WITL with IGF on Now 40 Years or replace IGF with WITL on volume 3. I also hope that both discs on Now 116 get filled up with no gaps

MADONNA FINALLY MAKES A NUMBERED NOW ALBUM!

The Rolling Stones not only appearing but opening disc 2 :o their first appearance in almost 30 years then. Wow at Madonna too albeit not her finest work

'Radio' by Lana is a pleasant surprise (with it dating back to 2012) but it did make a bit of a splash in the top 100 recently so why not.

The following songs made my personal chart:

2 Olivia Rodrigo - vampire

5 Peggy Gou - (It Goes Like) Nanana

6 Kylie Minogue – Tension

20 Stephen Sanchez - Until I Found You

2 Olivia Rodrigo - bad idea right?

3 Billie Eilish - What Was I Made For? (From The Motion Picture "Barbie")

4 Tom Odell - Black Friday

18 The Killers – Your Side Of Town

(+ a big fan of 'Radio' too but didn't chart it as an album track at the time)

Peggy's is probably my favourite on this edition  outside of the top 40 hits it's good to see 'Your Side Of Town' making it on too, did hope that would be the case.

Didn't expect the tracklist to be out so soon, not particularly good sequencing - four No.1s but opening again with Calvin (fair enough with Miracle but not Desire).

The end of Disc 1 and almost all of Disc 2 is VERY Radio 2 leaning. Nice to see S Club and Sugbabes though.

They're all insane. The same songs that they already have if they have the numbered series and probably several other places too. They'll buy anything with the letters, N, O and W on it.

Yeah, should've been either vampire or Paint the Town Red.

Wow at Madonna finally making the numbered series, though it does feel like a bit of a non event given it wasn’t a massive hit.

This will be Rick Aatley's 2nd Numbered NOW album appearance

the other was Cry For Help on NOW 19

A yay but oops moment there with Madonna. Should've added with something like 'Ghosttown' or something at the time if they finally were going to coming round to including her!

Stephen Sanchez only getting a add now when it first made the top 40 in January and was charting for ages last year as well

Kate Bush - The Sensual World only track missing from NOW 16 re-issue but we have an extra track not on the original album

in the shape of Brother Beyond's Drive On.

https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=7097310...709731071191458

Drive On was on the original but CD version only and Lil Louis which is only on the CD version is the other track that was removed

Apparently so i only ever had the cassette version, never knew about the differences between the two before.

Fine Young Cannibals, Lil Louis and Brother Beyond were the only 3 tracks which were exclusive to the CD version. And as for Lana Del Rey, why include a song of hers from her first album?
