This week, 7 queens (all of them minus DeJa) must lipsync for their spot in the competition, in a lipsync smackdown for the ages. Who will surprise, and who will prove that they deserve to stay?

I have everything crossed for Jasmine to make it through this week and possibly hit top 5 off a late surge! I don't see Deja outlasting much beyond this week of immunity unless she can somehow be a really iconic cheerleader!

Jasmine destroying Daya would be so satisfying, imagine lmao

This might be a HOT take and lord knows I adore her but... Angeria lowkey should have gone? Jasmine ate her up in Love Don't Cost A Thing, they're all there saying Angeria was serving when she basically was just walking around the stage? And with how Bosco ate that last lipsync... I think we would have lost Angie and they didn't want that, nor did I, but it would have lowkey been deserved. We haven't really had a shock elim yet this season, and it would have showed the girls that absolutely nobody is safe.

 

I feel bad for Jasmine, she came into an episode of her strengths and gets eliminated! I think there was a lot of luck involved, like she first of all got a song that you had to "feel" and then she ended up with a song where Bosco had the exact right outfit and vibe. Whereas Jorgeous got to choose the one uptempo dance-y song, and Willow got probably the only song she could have won. I did LOVE Willow's lipsync though, not everyone will agree but give me someone feeling a song and giving appropriate moves etc. over splits and tricks any day. It felt like they would have gotten rid of Jasmine no matter what, which really they could have done last week with a Jasmine/Jorgeous bottom 2 again. Other than Jorgeous, I think it was her time to go out of everyone, but she is great TV and I'll miss her. At least she did well at that one acting challenge too, Jorgeous has been in the bottom for me every single week since the trailer acting, except Daytona Wind where I still think she was only better than Deja and Angie.

 

Bosco eating a lipsync I did NOT see coming, everything she did really fit Swept Away. Jasmine pulled it out too and lowkey I feel like that was double shantay worthy although I know they couldn't do that again :rofl: It was satisfying for Bosco to pull through and win that. Camden in Don't Let Go was another highlight of the night for me, knowing she can turn songs as diverse as a Beyonce uptempo, Blondie and an En Vogue ballad, my money is on her bodying a lipsync for the crown.

 

That was a really good episode, it in essence pointless since it didn't pull a shock or anything, or a result that couldn't have just happened from a Snatch Game bottom 2, but they did really make it a great hour of TV.

Jasmine won every single lip sync, I'm so confused lmao. What's the point in lip syncs if you've decided who's going to go home anyway!

I agree, Jasmine won each lipsync she competed in. This entire episode just felt like an excuse to send her home, but they could’ve done that by putting her and Jorgeous in the bottom 2 after snatch game (must be a scheduled amount of episodes problem) But now this entire episode just feels like complete bullshit

 

Also, I HATE being told how to feel on drag race by the queens comments! Stop telling us who is doing good (it also ruins the results cause as soon as they were saying like, “oh Angie is KILLING it” you know production is just trying to convince us Angie is doing better for when she stays)

LMLou, Jack - agree 100%! This episode seemed designed to humiliate Jasmine in the hope she'd break like Jan and it was just unpleasant. No-one even cared she was gone!

 

This season is like Ru was like "you want trans girls? Sure they can come but we're not rooting for them"

I do think Jasmine picking Daya first sewed herself up a little though. Pick a queen you don't have ongoing storyline with!

With them already doing a non elim and a double shantay, I can't see why they needed to do a non elim Snatch Game and carry the elimination over. Feasibly they could have done a Jasmine/Jorgeous bottom 2 anyway, and either one could have gone depending on the song. Then they can "punish" the remaining 6 with a lipsync tournament. I think it would have been more of a gag for Jasmine to leave against Jorgeous, then there would probably have been some combination of Daya/Bosco/Angeria in the final lipsync where any of them could have gone really and Bosco/Angeria would be somewhat of a shock.

 

Agreed on the second part too, it drives me insane that Jorgeous so much as breathes and you get 83 confessionals about how she invented the art of lipsyncing, is killing the song, will win a lipsync against anyone, and is the greatest performer ever to walk the earth :lol: Like... we can see if someone i good for ourselves, you don't need to force us to think it.

My rationale of lipsync winners:

 

Jasmine vs Daya - DAYA. Jasmine did great but her mistake was actually picking someone much taller than her here in my opinion, although it was also unfair she didn't know the rules until then - that Daya would have her pick of the songs, or even what the songs would be. Daya also in my opinion stepping in front of Jasmine at every turn wasn't really fair - however, obviously it was a winning move. I think Jasmine could have done something more soulful but she wasn't really dressed to sell it. Daya was very lucky.

 

Willow vs Bosco - BOSCO. Sure, Willow played a blinder, got the right song she wanted etc. - but she didn't do anything to it. Bosco wasn't great but Willow literally didn't do anything but walk around the stage. If they want her to win this season - which I do think is the plan - they'll need to make sure none of the good lipsyncers make it to top 4.

 

Camden vs Jorgeous vs Angeria - CAMDEN. She killed every lipsync this episode even with the most difficult outfit for some of the songs. Jorgeous was high energy but she missed some of the words and wasn't even lipsyncing some of the time, while Angeria was pretty solid but I just thought the weakest of the three.

 

Camden vs Bosco - CAMDEN. By a mile. She ate Bosco up. I'm unsure why Bosco chose this lingerie to lipsync in in the first place tbh - actually, none of them really chose an outfit with any flow.

 

Angeria vs Jasmine - JASMINE. I didn't believe anything the girls said about Angie holding her own - she looked tired from the last one and didn't really match the energy of the song, nor did she have anything left in the bank to pull out. I love Angie but she should have been in that final showdown with Bosco.

 

Bosco vs Jasmine - JASMINE. Once again Bosco did nothing for 80% of the song and then pulled out some tricks towards the end when in my opinion it was too late.

 

Of course, in my opinion this episode was almost pre-determined based on which of the queens Ru had the least interest in. Did you have to humiliate Jasmine in the process though, Ru?

For me:

 

Daya vs Jasmine - DAYA - honestly neither sold the song, Jasmine did too much and Daya did too little. Jasmine wasn't Kenya Michaels cartwheeling to Natural Woman levels, but I still think too little is better than too much to a song like this.

 

Bosco vs Willow - WILLOW - this one is easy, Willow felt the song totally and you can tell she was just loving the song. I don't see what else she can do than what she did, it's Luther Vandross? Some songs you don't need much, and this is one of them. I don't think it says anything about Willow's potential skills to other songs just because she didn't pull out splits to Luther Vandross, but we'll see later in the competition I suppose one way or another. I think with her humour and drag persona, she could probably do high energy if it was campy, but admittedly I'm unsure about the usual pop diva songs that are often lipsync songs.

 

Angeria vs. Camden vs. Jorgeous - CAMDEN - I do get why Jorgeous won, but for my tastes, Camden did better. She had a more unique take and sold the song her own way but it still fit, it wasn't unnecessarily campy.

 

Camden vs Bosco - CAMDEN - demolished Bosco, easiest win of the night. Like I said, to think that she did Radio and Don't Let Go back to back so differently, she I would argue is the best lipsyncer in this, or at least the most versatile.

 

Angeria vs Jasmine - JASMINE - pretty easy again for me, Jasmine does have a bit of a one size fits all lipsync but it fit this, Angeria kind of just walked around and served a few moves.

 

Bosco vs Jasmine - BOSCO - again I think it was pretty lucky that Bosco got a sexed up song in that outfit, but she served. As I said could have been a double shantay which they obviously couldn't do, but I think Bosco just edged it, I did love that Jasmine changed it up and adapted though.

True, I feel like she is plateauing a bit now too since Camden/Bosco have started to pick up steam as well. She still has done the best out of anyone in the competition (I would have given 3 at least, if not 4, wins by now) but if she doesn't do well the next couple of weeks, she's losing momentum fast. Symone for example had a couple of bad weeks despite all the highs and wins, but they never favoured her, she had to lipsync to stay like everyone else, and she still won.

 

I get that some riggory is sometimes needed to keep the front runners or good TV in though, looking at tonight, DeJa would have probably ate Angeria up to One Way Or Another had that been a bottom 2 lipsync and imagine Angeria going at that point, it would have been possibly one of the biggest shocks in Drag Race herstory :lol:

Willow felt and sold that song completely — it didn’t need anything more and she nailed it.

this was such a great episode. obviously COMPLETELY fixed but it gave every storyline we needed. i adore jasmine but it was her time to go, and she came out of it so well. it was so lovely to see her stay positive and enjoy her experience to the end. her character journey has been really incredible this season.

Aja is ICONIC I really need her back on some form of All Stars

I realised by the time she left that Jasmine had slowly become one of my favourite queens of the series. Probably my favourite actually.

 

Her reactions throughout the whole thing, even though she was losing, were so genuine. She was living every minute of a Drag Race fan gasping at Jorgeous picking Beyonce, seemingly shook by every last thing that was happening in front of her eyes. I don't think I'm obsessed with her drag in any way but I really fell in love with the person Jasmine was more and more with each episode and she'll be a loss to the series for that alone.
