Not been impressed by them these last few years, particulary the Ellie Goulding Alexa scam.

As eyebrow raising as that looked, it wasn't a scam and I don't know what the OCC could've done with it.

I'm not really sure what anyone could do better that the OCC aren't doing I must admit!

Who are you proposing is going to take the 'rights' away from them...? It's not a government service lol

I reckon they should give up the rights tbh, it simply can't be salvaged at this point

If they need someone to compile an official chart for them, I'd be MORE than happy to take on the task... emot-phone.gif

Definitely, we all know the full story behind these 'figures' and this continued inexplicable domination by a certain few artists they are clearly paying off, Ed Sheeran, Alexa and Ladbaby come to mind. The truth will come to light eventually, just need someone brave enough to speak about it. What a sickening world we live in.
The worst job they're doing is their website in the discography part with like 5 errors per page on average :D

It was basically chsrt manipulation. Let's not forget ahout them cheating vs Mariah, but never against Whan!!

So let me make sure I've understood this thread: The charts are broken because the Alexa Christmas songs outperform popular Christmas songs because ACR is too strong, and at the same time the charts are broken because a popular song is at the lofty height of #23 this week because ACR isn't strong enough...

I'm going out for some fresh air now.

I don’t think the OCC should lose the rights. Instead, we should just mock the poster who started the thread instead of having a sensible discussion about what they brought up.
The OCC can't loose the rights as they own them. They are a creation of the British Record Industry, so, essentially, the British Record Industry own the charts. The waters are muddied as the OCC compile the Irish and French charts - those they could loose the licence to create.
official chart need 3rd tier acr song anything over 52 week that stop some Christmas songs and annoying mr brightside heat waves put them in
One should understand that music business DOES NOT EQUAL charts. Charts are just meant to reflect what people are consuming, otherwise they are pointless.

Instead of mocking the poster you could add to the discussion yourself perhaps, or just don’t say anything at all. You seem to have a habit of criticising the topic creator if the topic doesn’t suit your needs without actually adding much to the discussion yourself.

I just think every song should be treated equally - it’s not the job of the charts to be fresh and exciting but to objectively reflect British public consumption over a 7 day period.
