Pon De Replay was Rihanna’s debut single and it falls at the halfway point. Though a tune, when I first heard this. I kind of assumed that Rihanna would be a one hit wonder but boy was I wrong. Only 17 when this charted in August 2005, I recall Rihanna beginning the week around 6 or 7 in the first mids and then suddenly shooting up to the eventual peak of 2 randomly in the second set. I also remember briefly wondering if she was the same person as the Rhianna who brought us Oh Baby in 2002.
