Clearly I didn't do that!!

Ukraine's televote consisted of 28 sets of 12 points (surely a record!) 8 sets of 10 points, 2 sets of 8 points and one 7 pointer from the out of step Serbia

I think Portugal 2017 had lik 12 x 12 points that is a record for sure!!

Really didn't expect Moldova to be #2 in televoting! Them coming on after bunch of slower tracks surely helped a but then again, they did very well in the semi already.

Otherwise the results were pretty much as expected after the semifinals.

Pretty mad score for Ukraine, the only way they could have been stopped is if the juries absolutely hated it. I think it would have been top five whatever the situation, the song is infectious.

Wow that was quite the night!

We were watching along and scoring too. Our winner was Spain who got a full house of 12 points. I think the Czech Republic were robbed of a top 20 placement. They had amazing staging. Germany didn’t deserve last this year. France and Italy were a mess and Moldova…

Buzzing for the UK! Not a fan of those semi results. As if North Macedonia came 11th in their semi with that horrendous song…

"Europe hates us and will never vote for the UK song, we could send Adele and still get 0 points"

so pleased that we did so well on that.

Genuinely can't wait to be able to come back at people with this result when people (inevitably) start spouting out this bullshit next year!

People forget Jade and Blue's results... Apparently we're usually supposed to be given everyone's 12s each year for sending a song that's "quite nice" and doesn't even get placed in their own top 10...

This year I've heard lots of people say "I love that song!" before they knew it was out Eurovision entry... Shock horror, we send songs people would actually choose to listen to, and we do well!

(Though, it's pretty ironic that the one time we're blocked from winning, is the one time I agree there was political voting playing a notable part... 😂)

Sam was brilliant. It was the best song (not counting Gigliola Cinquetti's timeless Non Ho L'Eta Per Amarti) and best performance, and I echo Iz's quote. I am SO thrilled that I won't have to put up with up the bullshit "everybody hates us" comments ever again and try to waste 10 minutes of my life explaining that we just consistently send well-below-par stuff that aren't up to the standard required to do well and that the same countries dont win every year and the same winning countries each year get votes across the board from everyone.

Sam prob just saved me days off my life  :yahoo:

"we came second in 2022" is so much easier...

Actually, on the comments sections online, people are moaning about losing, moaning about only coming 5th on the public vote, and moaning that Ukraine won due to politics. They are saying it confirms their views that they hate us and that it's all political!!!

Sam has said this year is the tip of the iceberg, and we have far more to come next year :o Looks like TAP music know what they're doing :cheeseblock:

I wonder if Spain should re-send Chanel and UK re-send Sam Fender next year for the rematch without the symbolic Ukraine support?? See who wins!

Sam Fender will flop surely. They should consider Claudia and with a less bland pop song and nicely staged performance they should do well.
A great result for the UK, it felt like such a moment performed live and hopefully can turn things around for us from now on  I watched with my housemates last night, two of whom had never watched Eurovision before (trying to explain how the voting works was fun ), what a perfect contest to start with! We all loved Moldova, Ukraine, Spain and The Netherlands, I was on my own liking Serbia/France/Sweden tho :( For me, Portugal, Netherlands, France, Armenia and a few others really came to life on the stage compared to the studio recording (hopefully they eventually find their way onto streaming?). Ukraine was a very deserved winner, Stefania has been stuck in my head all day - bring on next year!

On the BBC the grand final had a 73% audience share of 16-34 year olds! :o

...with 8.9 million average viewing figures (55.5% share) and a peak of 10.8 million viewers (80.3% share) for the end of the voting.

Excellent figures, and super strong in the youth group should help convince R1 it’s worth them supporting our entry
