I guess we will see tomorrow when we get the final numbers how close it was, I can't see only 53 copies being the difference though can't be surely

I've just donwloaded the one and only version I didn't own in desperation, and starting to wonder if that was the point behind their tweet if it wasn't true
Isn't that supertv account well known for talking utter sh!t sure have seen a few untrue tweets by them in the past

Yeah, they posted that he was Spotify #1 “after just one day of streams” when it’s literally a daily chart

Regarding this I definitely think Kylie won the battle but Little Mix came off better in the end, Confetti has so far sold 255,000 where Disco has sold maybe 120k? Confetti spent wayy longer on the charts, the girls got 4 hit singles including a number one single, a Brit award and a sell out arena tour off the back of that album

Disco has done over 160k.

Really hope Sam can make no1. It would be a fitting tribute to all his hard work and energy. Besides, not a fan of Harry Styles dominating no1 with a very average song.

Well I hope that tweet isn't accurate but it's definitely making me less confident about tomorrow anyway which may be for the best. (A #2 peak would still be great but at this point it would feel like a slight anticlimax as it really was/is looking like he should have a good chance of hanging onto the #1!)

It does seem a little overly specific if it does turn out to be made up though.

re: Cat Burns... good to have an explanation of that I suppose but god knows why she's opposing having the radio version of her song available to stream? Lol ~

It wouldn’t surprise me if it was that close now and will probably mean Harry will be no1 again as a lot of streams will have or will be added before the final outcome!
When was the time we went into a Friday evening genuinely not knowing what the #1 was going to be?

Probably Montero vs Wellerman last year, think it was mentioned a few pages back.

This is actually a really great and interesting battle though because of the "jeopardy" in Sam's case. This is unquestionably his ONLY chance to get #1 whereas all the close shaves in recent years I can think of have just been the natural crossover of 2 guaranteed #1s anyway (actually the other one I remember is Roddy Ricch - The Box just missing out but at the time it still had a decent chance of eventually climbing to #1 but just never did). It has an early 2000s feel to it...

I'd be interested to know the actual sales figures of both albums - ie excluding streaming sales

the radio version of ‘go’ not being available to stream is probably what’s stopping it going to #1. i added the original to my go-to playlist but when i realised it’s not the radio version, i took it off.

also, really hoping sam grabs the #1 today.

The lack of streaming for the radio version of 'go' obviously isn't helping it but I really doubt its availability would boost it enough to get to #1, it is still pretty far behind Harry at the end of the day.

well you can’t be sure of that because there’s no way to know why it’s so far behind harry. perhaps it’s not doing as well because people are hearing it on radio, going to find it and the ones that like the original vibe are the only ones sticking around. think of how many streams she’s missing out on when people hear it and go “i prefer the radio version” and never play it again..

i think the same happened with adele. ‘oh my god’ had a remix playing on radio that wasn’t available to stream. i don’t understand the logic behind it? why have radio play a song that completely changes the tempo but don’t give the go-ahead to put it on streaming.

^streaming doesn't work like that at all, it's based on Spotify playlists not on what people hear on radio

if only...
