she has an original song 'carolina' dropping soon for the movie where the crawdads sing, but i think she might be waiting till that before dropping the next re-recording. the movie is out in july so i assume the song will be out in the next couple of weeks.

 

there's also a rumour (take this with a pinch of salt) that apparently she had something ready a few weeks ago but put it on hold because of the school shooting. again its just a rumour but she did speak about the incident online so it is somewhat believable

I wouldn't be mad at that, but I doubt it'll settle as high as that in the long term. I could see it becoming a mainstay of the Spotify top 200 on a similar level to Fleetwood Mac's 'Dreams' though?

Yes she's always done criminally bad in the USA - only 'Man with the Child in His Eyes' (85 peak), 'Don't Give Up' (72) and the underrated bop 'Rubberband Girl' (88) have made the Top 100 there.

Just as well the billboard chart is terrible then!

I was more shocked to discover earlier this evening that she's never charted higher than #28 even on the albums chart in the US! ('Hounds Of Love' re-entered there this week, a new peak for that album and matching 'The Red Shoes' for her highest career peak, hopefully it'll go higher next week).

 

Similarly shocking to how ABBA never had a top 10 album in the US prior to 'Voyage'.
