A re-release is rumoured, but things are up in the air in terms of anything being confirmed. Even though Kylie’s in a very successful period as an artist with recent accolades, the album era itself feels like it’s stalled…

It's definitely stalled and it stalled far far quicker than I ever expected and without a new version it will still take another while to go gold. I think as it stands it's probably on the same sales as Kiss Me Once although I know it will easily outsell it eventually.

I was thinking the same too. My guess is the unexpected success of Vegas and push in the USA derailed it. On the flip side, her profile is high so maybe the label can think of Tension as the “Lightyears” to the upcoming “Fever”. So that means, dear Kylie - pls release a new album soon (to ride on the wave) and not reissue Tension.

I don’t think the next album will do much better though. The album market has changed and very few albums produce any longevity these days unless you are a major current trending artist like Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande.

Funny thing though, in terms of how much money the album has produced, I bet Tension is not that far behind Disco! Padam Padam is raking in that coin through streaming!

Nowhere to be seen in the Top 200 albums. I really thought it could get a decent re-entry thanks to the BRITs, sad to see it not chart at all!

I know hun, the brits is just not as big as it was and the young ones don't watch it so streams don't increase as much as needed plus most people switch off before the end.

 

Either way, she has won that award and her profile is the biggest it has been critically since Fever huns.
