Sorry everyone but I absolutely love Love Train!!!

The only one not clicking just yet is You Still Get Me High

I think 'Green Light' is my dud, nothing exciting happens in it and the song feels like it plods on for ten minutes.

I'm rapidly falling in love with 'Vegas High'. I ranked it 9th initially, but I think it's heading towards being my favourite!

Story made me cry. What a beautiful song.

Love Train was the one that grabbed me most instantly too! I’ve had it on repeat all day.

 

Obviously Hold On To Now should be the next single though.

 

This might be in my top 2 of Kylie’s albums. An amazing body of work. Confident, fresh, exuberant and original.

Folks - I'm a bit of a newbie on streaming. I've had the album streaming on repeat play all day on spotify. Is that ok or should I play another artist/song after one entire play of the album for each play to count?

I think it doesn’t matter with albums — as long as you don’t play the same track on loop, everything will count. You can even play the Padam EP with 3 remixes on loop, and everything will count, as for Spotify those are technically different tracks.

 

Very strong showing on Apple Music indeed, and there’s still around one more day to grow. And everything since Hold On To Now will fully be counted towards streaming, so we can expect some very healthy figures for the album streams!

We still have the concert on bbc2 tomorrow at 10pm. Yes won't get huge viewing figures but should help with some of those songs

I’m just pleasantly surprised at all the publications giving this album 4/5 plus. She’s really gotten the Fever era goodwill with this album hasn’t she?

Yes, it made me well up today too.

To know it is about her battle with cancer, and for it to be the album closer, it really does sound like a victory lap.

Had a stressful unrelated incident this morning and it spoilt my enjoyment of the first Spotify listens….I wasn’t clicking with the many of the Biff tracks….anyway returned home to the Coke bottle vinyl….whacked it on, playing through my Sonos speakers. I’m hooked, HOTN, Vegas High, Story. Bonus tracks are great, inc Love Train (why are Gamble and Huff credited, it’s nothing like their song?). 10/10 and Green Light are least enjoyable.

 

I do think Padam, Tension and HOTN are ideal singles.

 

My signed CD arrived too, fully shrink wrapped weirdly so I had to open it to check the signed card was in there. With a kiss from KM, cute.

 

BTW the vinyl itself sounds ace but the quality of the sleeve/ insert is low compared to the Disco variants. Strange they did that.

 

The wait for the album was more than worth it.

Kylie has once again excelled.

I wouldn't call it all killer, but it's definitely no filler. The only song I could definitely live without is Just Imagine. And there are many highlights!

My only critique is that is leaning too much into 80's vibes, and Padam really stands out. '10 out of 10' actually helps it to connect a bit, but still, we need more of the Padamic sound. I don't ask for a carbon copy, but I think you know what I mean.

Bonus points for the bonus tracks that are much more interesting than those from 'Golden' and 'DISCO', 'Lost Without You' apart.

 

And although 'Hands' is not my favourite of all of the tracks, I kinda feel it could work perfectly as a 4th single with some feature?!

My little friend at BMG who also has the inside track at ARIA (pun intended) has told me that "Tension" will debut at number 1 in OZ with the biggest first week sales this decade. The promotion in oz in the last 24 hours has been huge, without actually Kylie, but rather Kamille appearing live on multiple shows.

 

Does your friend have an inside track at who is going to win the ARIA awards, especially those Kylie was nominated? :kink:

Is her UK streaming numbers (or overall, I suppose) for Tension higher than it was for Disco? Honestly, the general reviews, publicity, etc. really seems to point to monster sales or at least a Uk #1 album. I'm hoping top 20 in the US
