When you see Fred and McTominay still lined up next to each other you know there isn't going to be much that is different to before. Maguire still caught out of position as well just like the whole of last season.

Not seen the game so can't comment, but Rodgers started off like this under Liverpool and I imagined Ten Haag would as well. I guess that's why he's shopped so close to home with players that knew his methods. What I do found baffling is why they put all their eggs in the de Jong basket when it was clear he was never interested on going!? McTominay and Fred are just nowhere near the level needed.

Great to watch from Brighton, they were superb all over the pitch, Caicedo is definitely their next find, very unlucky not to have got a penalty too.

Yous have had good players for a while they are just poorly coached and the team are poorly run in the board level.

I can't fathom how or why the new manager has picked Dalot as a first team player, and Shaw having hardly figured in pre-season gets the nod too. Maguire is his usual immobile self, Fred and McTominay were no different to last season.

This might be the first ever season where I don't care who wins the league, as a Man Utd fan there's only so much of the "rather City than Liverpool" mindset that I can have and besides if it's between those 2 it will be either City winning 3 titles in a row which only United have done in the Premier League era or Liverpool going level on 20 overall titles. There really is no good outcome there. It's the rest of the league that I would be more interested in this time, the other teams in the league don't get enough attention from the media imo but there are fascinating stories to be told with teams likely to be lower in the table.

Not watching the match but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that were losing 4-0 before half time. Those pre-season results were obviously a myth as I suspected them to be. The main problem is we're not replacing enough dead weight in our team with upgrades in quality. It's just part 2 of last season.

You will get better as the season goes on as this is the case when you change your style so rapidly without the right players. But I am not sure Ten Haag is the man. The signing of Martinez was bonkers for this league. The world and their dog can see Utd need another midfielder and the money is there but the obsession with De Jong and Rabiot is so strange.
