Millwall have bottled it!

They are punching well above their weight with the squad and finances, no way have they bottled it.

Maybe so on their squad and finances, but they had 6th place in their hands going into the last match of the season and had a 3-1 lead in the game against Blackburn and they threw it away. They bottled it! It's probably for best given the troublesome reputation of a lot of their fans.

Birmingham City have been given a suspended two-point deduction by the English Football League for rule breaches during an unsuccessful takeover bid.

The Championship club, who announced this week that American Tom Wagner is to buy a 45.6% stake, admitted to breaching EFL regulations.

The deduction is suspended until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Blues were initially charged following "a thorough investigation" in February.

Goalkeeper Aynsley Pears has signed a new four-year contract with Blackburn Rovers.

The 25-year-old established himself as first choice after Thomas Kaminski sustained a knee injury in February.

Pears retained his place after Kaminski returned to training, playing in the last 20 games of the season.

Luton v Coventry for a place in the Premier League will keep the headline writers busy. Both clubs have gone through turbulent times over the last decade or two.
Yes that's a massive story whoever wins the final but for Luton it would be near incredulous given weren't they in the conference league not all that long ago?
Some story for Mark Robins to be potentially a premier league manager as well, always been in league 1/2! And Watford once again proving to be masters at impatience with Rob Edwards the Luton manager!

Don't mind who goes up out of the two, back in 2017-18 they were both playing in League Two.

Luton Town: Last time in First Division: 1991-92

Coventry City: Last time in Premier League: 2000-01

It’ll be a 90s party of Coventry go up and Forest stay in there. Pity Southampton went down!

Troy Deeney is one of six first-team players released by Birmingham City at the end of their contracts.

The Blues captain had been offered a new deal in March but will depart St Andrew's after two seasons, in which he scored 11 goals in 56 appearances.

Former skipper Harlee Dean is also among those going, having played his 200th game for the club in the final-day defeat by Sheffield United

Maxime Colin, George Friend, Jordan Graham and Kevin Long are also leaving.

The Championship club, who gave their "thanks to all departing players for their contributions across their time with Blues" also said talks were "ongoing with a number of released players".
