Good to see Doja Cat and Bru-C both climbing into the top 40, both bops (and the drum n bass revival continues, still enjoying all of these recent drum n bass hits so far). Didn't clock that 'Happier Than Ever' was also in line for a post-Glasto reset but I am much more here for that than Sam Fender's 800th reset which is inevitably coming up soon (neither are necessary but HTE a much better song imo).

Spoke too soon last week about OneRepublic already peaking it seems. Gross

Why does the whistling medley sound like the "Gave you all I had and you tossed it in the trash" lyric from Bruno Mars' Grenade?
i'm sorry, but i have to disagree with him when he said onerepublic is one of the biggest bands in the world...

Biography

After doing the rounds with a snippet on socials, west London’s Benzz has finally dropped his single “Je M’apelle” alongside visuals! Benzz is the talk of the town at the moment with preview of his debut tune “Je M’appelle” putting him on the map as a rising star in the drill scene. “Je M’appelle” samples the upbeat dance tune “Destination Calabria” and is symbolic of the new age drill movement which Benzz is now at the forefront of. The visuals match the energy of the track, with Benzz showing homage to his west London and Moroccan roots. The track’s popularity has soared on TikTok with over 5 million views in total and the hype around the song suggest Benzz has a huge future ahead of him. - GRM Daily

I thought this would go higher because of the tion wayne & French Montana remix.

It did just that two weeks ago, hence the #17 peak

In the late 00's they might have been and 2013 lol. He's a bit out of touch there.

Struggling to see where Charlie Puth is meant to be in this chart I must admit, despite Jack mentioning both him and Jung Kook specifically as a new entry at the start

Maybe he’s at #41 and just made a mistake when looking? Not sure if he’s only got the top 40 or top 100 in front of him when presenting. Find it unlikely he’s this high considering his mids position yesterday.

Time for someone ask Jack where are Charlie and Jung he had announced as a new entry? :(

Biography

Nigerian singer Burna Boy opened his Apple Music Up Next spotlight with a distinction: “Music’s supposed to be a universal language. You understanding what I’m saying is second. The primary thing is, what does the person inside you hear?” It’s a simple but radical thought: You can listen on your terms, but he doesn’t have to meet you halfway. Born in 1991 and raised on the southern coast of Nigeria before moving to London for college, Burna (born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu) has become one of the most prominent African pop artists of the 21st century, fusing his specific background—a Nigerian man entering adulthood in the United Kingdom—with a global vision that encompasses Afrobeats, dancehall, trap, UK hip-hop and just about everything else that might fit under his diasporic umbrella. The result is an artist who isn’t confined by his identity but doesn’t dilute it either. By the time he received broader recognition through a (conspicuously uncredited) feature on Drake’s 2017 mix, More Life, he was already a star in Africa; 2019’s African Giant, which featured collaborators as disparate as Angélique Kidjo, Skrillex, Damian Marley and Future, brought him into international focus. Yeah, he’s just speaking to his people. But there are more of them all the time. - Apple Music
