This is better than the other Burna Boy songs I've heard but I very much don't get the hype around him I must admit
i'm sorry, but i have to disagree with him when he said onerepublic is one of the biggest bands in the world...

Have they ever been considered one of the biggest bands in the world?

They're a band that get a hit every few years at best.

Biography

Sam Ryder’s soulful and spectacular voice blasts off like fireworks all throughout his pristine pop music. The Essex-based singer is a true 21st-century success story: after years of playing in rock and metal bands and trying to break into the songwriting game in Nashville, Ryder took to posting cover songs to the internet during the 2020 pandemic lockdowns, and quickly caught the attention of stars like Sia and Justin Bieber. In short order, he skyrocketed to social media stardom—and it’s not hard to hear why. Although 2019’s “Set You Free”, on which he showcased his impressive vocal acrobatics over soft guitar chimes, hinted at what was to come, his post-lockdown work is where he really shines. The soaring and impassioned “More” (2021) explores his metal influences, and The Sun’s Gonna Rise EP offers the best of his poignant originals thus far, such as the melancholy “Whirlwind” and the sun-blasted “July”. - Apple Music

this was my exact reaction when he said it! Like who has ever considered them one of the biggest bands in the world??

This is better than the other Burn a Boy songs I've heard but I very much don't get the hype around him I must admit

The appeal of Burna Boy is his diversity and willingness to explore different sounds. For Me anyway :D

Shame peru has stopped sam staying in the top 20 for another week, but considering it is a uk eurovision track, space man has exceeded all expectrations and done so well for him. congrats sam <333

Peru was top 20 in the mids anyway so I don't think that can really be blamed! :kink:

Biography

Sam Fender crafts the kind of tenacious anthemic rock that punches straight at the gut. Born and raised in 1994 in the northeastern English town of North Shields, the singer/songwriter first picked up a guitar at age 10 and began playing gigs locally as a teen to help support him and his mother. But it wasn’t until he started writing music for himself—rather than what he thought others wanted to hear—that everything started to click. That’s when he wrote his 2017 debut single, “Play God”, a propulsive, politically charged slice of indie rock. It came from a place of deep desperation, “a time where I was like, ‘I need to prove myself. I need to do something that cuts through,’” he told Apple Music. The track earned him a slot on BBC’s Sound of 2018 shortlist, which led to a deal with Polydor Records and the release of his acclaimed 2019 debut, Hypersonic Missiles, an album that channels modern-day anxiety through heartfelt heartland rock. His 2021 follow-up, Seventeen Going Under, hit even harder, pumped full of soaring arrangements and bold statements that continue to prove Fender’s power as a mighty millennial voice for the working class. - Apple Music

i'm still not bored of seventeen going under, but kinda don;t think it needed the reset, same with billie. its great to see them both here, but the resets have stopped (charlie, taylor etc.) from making the top 40 this week
Loved his performance. Deserved return even if it isn't fresh  actually sounds really good still though.

I missed out what exactly James has said about Charlie Puth minutes ago?

Get that 4th run on SCR :cheeseblock:

Well it's no less deserving than Where Did You Go? at this point, or indeed Peru (which also peaked in January)
