Of course Brexit is the will of the people. Leave won in the referendum didn't it?

A narrow majority in advisory referendum in which the "winning" side broke the lay multiple times.

ODDS. Truss 1/2 fav. Sunak 19/10

I reckon it's all over and it's down to racism in the Tory membership. :(

Hah! Too true as the nasty Aaron Banks has shot himself in the foot proving by losing a court case against Carole Cadwallader for stating the truth. Shades of Inspector Clouseau there though. The Lay? Unless, gasp, you're suggesting one of the Tory ladies supporting Brexit was spreading favours to get the result :o Busy lady! At least we know it wasn't Liz Truss as she was Remain till she saw the result and decided she'd like to be Prime Minister despite half the things she warned against having come true:

paraphrase: "it hasn't been quite as bad as I thought it would be"

Not sure I agree too much with that. Boris' narrative was made even greater by the media, but that is also because he would sing, dance and change his spots for the media. Truss would do the same too, but she is not like Johnson. As much as I loathe the guy, he was certainly unique in the game of politics. People liked him because he was funny and a bit wacky and probably channeled some of his Nigel Farage despite being a posh Eton lad (see Chris' love affair). I just don't see Sunak or Truss being able to build up that level of cult status. Sunak has given people free money and food so he probably has some saving Grace, but he is so closely associated to the Johnson era, that's going to be a difficult tag to shed in the short term.

They hate him now, but people forget. He delivered the biggest Conservative win in decades - if they lose the next general election they will panic.

It true people do forget, remember Churchill was a hate figure in British politics by the late 1930s!

Are you still fighting this arguement 6 years later -_-

Is stating a fact an argument?

Me, I'm going with "I told you so" as everyone rejoices in the increased affluence they now enjoy skipping happily into jobs that have magically appeared from all those huge trade deals that have been delivered :teresa:

Guck OFF with that SHITE TORY EVIÑ PROPAGANDA!!! IT ID NOT wiLL oF ThE PerPErlLLLL. It wss a f***ing 50 50 split!!!!

It has to be fought until people get the message that this is NOT how democracy should function ;) Sorry.

But this is British democracy!

No matter what you say Brexit won the referendum and the courts agreed so advisory or not as any referendum could be it was always going to be Inacted and has been.

You need to fight your battles based on reality or you will never change things.

The courts did NOT agree. The courts stated that they would have nullified the result if the referendum had been binding.

Anyone who still thinks Brexit is a good idea, or that the referendum was legal and totally not melded in by Russia in anyway in order to destabilise the EU so they could illegally annex Ukraine while the UK and EU we’re having an escalating trade war (someone please check the DUP bank accounts), is one of three things: Brainwashed, racist or incredibly stupid. (Or all of the above)

This is so cringe I dunno if I’m feeling second hand embarrassed for her or if I want to just howl with laughter

I thought about caring who the next prime minister is, but I have found that I really can’t

I feel like Sunak would be a better choice but that’s more down to how shite Truss is

No it wasn't. If it had been, the courts would have nullified the result - as I said in my previous post.

If that’s the case then I don’t know why we bother with any democratic votes as when it doesn’t go the right way the other side will always argue black is white.

It’s a pointless arguement, the world has moved on and everyone else knows we have left the Eu.

We haven’t quite moved on yet though, have you not seen the news today?

DUCKING WROOOOONG!!!!!

British "democracy" (lol x) is A PARLIAMENTARY DEMOCRACY. Referenda are NOT required, as we elect parliamentarians on our behalf. Sovereignty, therefore, lies with parliament. Now! The courts did NOT agree with the referendum, and would have anulled it werr it binding, but it was not. It was advisory. It was 50/50, and Blojo and his fsr right cohorts ignored the other 50% in favour of the HARDEST BREXSHIT POSSIBLE, WHICH WAS NOT PROMISED. IN. THE. CAMPAIGN. WHERE. THEY. CATEGORICALLY. STATED. WE. WOULD. REMAIN. IN. THE. SINGLE. MARKET. SO! Democracy?
