July 15, 20223 yr This is probably the best thing I've heard from her in a whole, finally a song that has substance like her earlier material.
July 15, 20223 yr It’s been a mad 24 hours with me leaving my job and having the mother of all nights out (and hangovers) but I’ve finally got round to listening to this. And I love it! So Pink and quite old skool from her which is never a bad thing. I do think that unfortunately she’s past epic commercial success particularly in the UK singles chart. I do wish this was leading an album campaign.
July 15, 20223 yr Hope the hangover passes over for you😀 I agree about commercial single success and we knew it was going to happen but like many other artists she has had a great run with a great career so any success now is a bonus.
July 15, 20223 yr I think she possibly still could get a hit with the lead from her next proper album, but that will be the test.
July 16, 20223 yr Author I'm loving this, had it on repeat :cheer: As far as I know, it is not a lead single from an album. This is what I've found about it: Proceeds from Pink's new song Irrelevant will go to 'When We All Vote', an initiative created by Michelle Obama Also, I've edited the first post with the youtube audio video
July 16, 20223 yr Author Pink has released a new single, “Irrelevant,” which sees the pop singer urging fans to advocate for their rights. Proceeds from the song will be donated to When We All Vote, the national, nonpartisan voting initiative created by Michelle Obama. The anthemic track was written by Pink along with songwriter and producer Ian Fitchuk, marking the pair’s first collaboration. “As a woman with an opinion and the fearlessness to voice that opinion, it gets very tiring when the only retort is to tell me how irrelevant I am,” the singer said in a statement. ‘I am relevant because I exist, and because I am a human being. No one is irrelevant. And no one can take away my voice.” The mission of When We All Vote is to change the culture around the voting process and to increase participation in each election cycle by helping to close race and age gaps. To date, more than 100 million people have been educated about the voting process, resulting in increased voter registration. Last year, Pink unveiled All I Know So Far: SetList, a live album recorded during the singer’s Beautiful Trauma World Tour in 2019. It included a new studio single, “All I Know So Far,” produced by Greg Kurstin and co-written by Pink and the award-winning songwriting team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Her most recent LP, Hurts 2B Human, dropped in 2019. Link
July 16, 20223 yr This is very good and kind of song I like to hear from her, especially now that the rock sound is back on charts more. She is so good with explosive songs with a message - whether they are up or midtempo.
July 19, 20222 yr Swearing can sometimes be effective in emphasising a point or conveying the passion. I wouldn't say in this case it's superfluous or gratuitous.
July 19, 20222 yr Yeah, I think it serves this song well, this is a topic on which Pink is extremely passionate about and that clearly shows in the lyrics and the way she sings the song.
July 20, 20222 yr Just heard this on More Radio this evening. Sounds great on 2nd listen. Would be nice if it took off but going off streaming and Apple nothing to suggest it will, at least for now anyways. Edited July 20, 20222 yr by Roba.
July 20, 20222 yr Cant for now see it taking off and its not the type of song that i can see getting a few remix releases to help it.
July 24, 20222 yr VERY apt title for Screech  And anyway, what does she stand for?? She started out full on Destiny's Child-style rnb for a couple albums, then went mega pop, then went Avril Lavigne rocky pop, like this, then went back into full pop, then went into her I Wannabe Adele phase, and now ... back to Avril Lavigne?? Screeches trend-chaser.
July 24, 20222 yr Really like this and the video. Not expecting it to do much though but always great to have a new P!nk song.
