July 21, 20222 yr It's the first UK rap song to get uploaded to Lyrical Lemonade (the YT channel that made Juice Wrld famous) _VuJA-VQRcY song heavily samples Let Me Blow Ya Mind which should also help make it big.
July 21, 20222 yr Ahh ok, I knew it had been uploaded there but didn’t realise it was the first UK one. Fair play then
July 25, 20222 yr Wt88GMJmVk0 Which do you prefer? 'Let Me Blow Ya Mind' without a shadow of a doubt
July 25, 20222 yr Wt88GMJmVk0 Which do you prefer? This is like comparing a Bentley with a decrepit Skoda. ('Let Me Blow Ya Mind' being the Bentley obvs)
July 25, 20222 yr https://www.instagram.com/tv/CgXejDfAB1c/?i...id=NWRhNmQxMjQ= Just seen this on his Instagram. Why on earth didn’t he just add this as the second verse? At least the song would be the length a song should be?! Also, queue an absolute slating as I’ve not seen a single person say this yet, I actually quite like the song. I’m a fan of the sample and quite like most of central cee’s music
July 25, 20222 yr Is the song trying to confront homophobia in the rap scene? If so that's a positive message.
July 26, 20222 yr I'm not sure. It's very 'I'm not racist, I have black friends', except with gay people. He's basically justifying making a song where the hook is composed half of lines that are basically 'haha gay is funny' by pointing out that his girlfriend is bisexual. I want to believe that it is well intentioned but it just comes across pretty ignorant and childish regardless of the intent. I heard this song blasting out of someone's car speakers earlier today, not that I really needed to hear it to know exactly what it sounds like given I knew the sample and he uses basically the same flow on nearly all of his songs, this being no exception. I've enjoyed my fair share of his discography (moreso from the first mixtape than the second, although 'Khabib' was great) but I think I'll pass on this one.
July 26, 20222 yr Yes I kind of half suspected that was the case. And a major white rap artist wouldn't release a 'I'm not racist, I have black friends' kind of song.
July 26, 20222 yr This one isn't great for several reasons! One the dodgy lyrics, two name checking Doja Cat for no real reason and three being so short! I haven't loved what he's done before but definitely preferred the likes of Overseas and Obsessed With You to this!
July 26, 20222 yr I'm convinced no one actually likes this song and it's just a hit due to run time and various gimmicks to cause people to listen out of curiousity.
July 27, 20222 yr I (mistakenly, now) listened out of curiosity as it was on the New Music playlist and I'd heard his name around - one of the worst songs I've heard this year, seriously dodgy lyrics (I don't even get what he's trying to do here) and atrocious, lazy use of a sample and a pointless name check. Nothing redeeming at all except that it's over quickly!
July 27, 20222 yr What will be history making about it? :P If it gets to number one it will be certifiably the worst number one in history.
September 8, 20222 yr i'm v. confused at this... it feels really problematic though he is quite attractive.
September 11, 20222 yr This really grew for me in the end, extremely catchy. Would put it second behind Commitment Issues in his discog.
