Light years really revived kylies career and I think golden really revived kylie herself as she was so into the album herself and you could tell how proud she was of the album when she talked about and it came at the right time after 2 fairly meh albums. Both albums are great but light years gets my vote.
Golden, gets my vote for this round. This album was and still is a fantastic body of work & one of my fave Kylie albums. A prime example of an artist reiventing and evolving as a legendary performer, even after more than 30 years in the music business. A lot of singers whose been around for so long tends to struggle by failing to capture the greatness of their early work & just coast of the big hits they've had in the past & basically just going through the motions in their twilight years, BUT NOT Kylie, she's just incredible & even after all these years puts 110% percent into everything she does, just look at 'Golden' & 'Disco', both of these ranks right up there with some of her best material & that's why Kylie will always be my favourite artist of all-time.

When it was announced that Kylie would be exploring the Country/Pop sound, I think we were all a bit skeptical & maybe a bit too risky, thankfully after 'Dancing' came out, all those doubts soon washed away, as the song was incredible & not only did it set the tone for the album perfectly, it's catchy as hell with stellar production that captures the very essence of Kylie Minogue herself. One of Kylie's best lead singles for sure. This reinvention was something that Kylie sorely needed, especially after the mis-fire of 'Kiss Me Once', 'Golden' trumps that album a million times over.

While not everyone enjoys the Country sound of this album, personally I loved it, an experiment gone totally right with several standout moments such as "Stop Me From Falling" (the perfect follow-up & the remixed version with Gente De Zona was even better), 'Golden' (infectious title track), 'A Lifetime To Repair' (epic hoedown track that should have had an equally fun music video), 'Sincerely Yours' (stunning pop ballad), 'Live A Little' (underrated banger), 'Shelby 68' (gorgeous production & some of Kylie's best vocals), 'Raining Glitter' (joyful beats & firm highlight), 'Music's Too Sad Without You' (beautiful country ballad, one of Kylie's best ballads of her career) & 'Lost Without You' (powerful & euphoric).

Wow I've highlighted most of the album, it just goes to show how great it is.
Golden. For me, Kylie seemed to put more of herself into that album. There are moments of real depth and expression. But it also delivers some bangers too.

Great to see a real battle in this round as both are just great Kylie albums in different ways, i think Golden really did put fire in Kylies music career again and it was great to see the album selling aswell as it did, Golden also had a brilliant chart run and its a shame Disco was so short in comparison. Both light years and disco rejuvenated Kylies career though at very different times.
