Oh I'm surprised that 'Informer' wasn't in my votes, it must've been very close.

I've got back into 'Ecuador' over the past couple of weeks after its use in my favourite Strictly Come Dancing performance this series so far, it was so joyful. But yeah, it'd probably still be teetering outside the edge of my votes even now, as the field is so strong. Again I was expecting 'Mysterious Times' to be out before it!

My brother used to be terrified of 'Turn Around' as a small child for some reason  so it always reminds me of that :')

Ecuador and Turn Around are both fab! Yet more ‘nearly made my vote’ contenders.
I always loved Turn Around. Fantastic dance classic!

Ehhkvadorr! always liked that one.

"rectal search. Good times"  In-forrrmah! Bit of fun.

Ecuador is great. To their eternal credit Sash didn't just rehash their first hit again and again and again....
Infooormer yaknowsadedityslowseeagablaam a licky licky boom boom down :music:

'Informer' is the first of my top 10 (i.e. the big all time faves) to drop out - not super surprised as I can see why it wouldn't be for everybody but still deserves better, such a fun song. I think most of the rest of my top 10 should place quite highly actually but there are one or two others that I expect to see out fairly soon. Hopefully not before the top 50!

Had to squeeze one of the Sash! songs into my votes and 'Ecuador' is my fave of the bunch :music:

I think 'Turn Around' was one of the last songs I cut from my votes too so that was almost a triple loss for me!

I can’t remember how the Martine McCutheon song goes but surely ‘Turn Around’ is the better remembered today?? And ‘Ecuador’ is a dance classic!

The Beautiful South had some unreal singles didn’t they! Paul Heaton relevant for so long in the charts 1986 - 2000!

Turn Around is far better remembered as you'd expect, combining the original and re-recorded versions it's on 61m Spotiplays vs 2m for Martine
Informer is such a 1993 song but an infectious one, I actually thought it might be a bit higher. Turn Around is the last to appear of the final 3 songs I had to cut - I wanted to give it some points, but 33 into 30 wouldn't go.

much longer than 1986-2000, BS had hit singles/albums up until 2005,

and then together with Jacqui, Abbott, Paul Heaton has had 5 top 5 albums including 2 number 1s, the more recent a few weeks ago

so he's been relevant 1986-2022 I'd say

Early 90s dance that attracted a new rate record of 8 voters!

Never been a huge fan of The Key: The Secret but haven’t managed to unlock why that is. Slight Return was close to my votes so glad that got some good support. Was obsessed with Don’t Give Me Your Life as a 10 year old for some reason; remember a classmate telling me off for humming it too often. Congratulations Jim for giving that exactly the correct score. Commiserations Ed - right score but wrong song. B-)

Bah, lost three in one go. I love all of those.

I thought Slight Return might be a little higher, one of my favourite Britpop songs.

Argh, double whammy of my votes there of a brilliant dance classic and a classy Britpop tune :(
Enjoy all three of those, especially the Bluetones and Urban Cookie Collective. The Bluetones album remains one of my favourites from the 90s, loved the peacock artwork too

Snap! At least my top 10 are still intact (for now)

Two dance essentials and one of the best guitar pop songs of the era. That artwork for Urban Cookie Collective though...
