Fantastic top 20. Even though I voted for fewer than half of them, I like or love all of them.

I maybe don’t always love a lot of the agreed classics as much as most others do but I can see why they are all here. Tubthumping is the only small surprise I’d say, I would have thought 10-20 places lower for that.

I'm not massively familiar with Springsteen's discography but 'Streets Of Philadelphia' has really drawn me in whenever I've come across it <3

'Crazy' was a... killer start to Seal's post-Adamski career! *.*

That's 13 of my top 20 left now then, still 8 of my top 10.

An excellent top 20 indeed, 14 of my votes left and Alright the only casualty of my top 10 so far so can't complain! (Tender just outside at 11th)

Streets and Philadelphia and Crazy are both great songs that didn't quite make my votes, Sit Down is wonderful, such a wholesome, timeless song.

Also, to show what a chart fanatic I was back then, I bought 17 of these at the time - interestingly I voted for all 3 that I didn't buy at the time.
Actually, I’ve checked and I have 17 out of 20 left! Just the 5 from my top 10 though.
12 of mine left including 7 of my top 10 - the 3 which dropped out are the ones I expected, Bruce did a lot better than I thought! Streets Of Philadelphia is an outlier in his discography as it gave him his UK chart peak long after his most commercial albums, but the minimal production and storytelling work well even without the film connection.
Not really a fan of Bittersweet Symphony and Wonderwall has an awful vocal.

:(

Just never got the fuss over BS. The strings are nice but I have a feeling that they do more for everyone else apart from me. I bought Wonderwall. I liked it a lot. The music is pretty good but I can't abide Liam's vocal at all any more.

Crazy is probably my least fave in the top 100 and Lovefool is my least fave in the top 20. :teresa:

Surprised I'm still top 10. I only voted for 12 of this top 20, but 8 of my top 10 are still in.

Lost another biggie in Crazy there, thought that would do even better, and Bruce is a total surprise, never considered it that popular (though film songs tend to have longer legs)! It's really good, but it's no Born To Run epic.

I'm going to be lucky to have any in the top 10 at this rate! I mean, sorry fans of Alice Deejay, but Better Off Alone top 20? Wow! Who knew it was so popular, just a fairly decent fun dance track to me :o

I think 9 out of my top 10 are still there, only 1 I lost in my top 10 is Whitney-My love is your love, which should have ended much higher and definitely left too early

For me it’s one of the greatest dance tracks and melodies ever, and outsold most of what has gone already, as well as many that are still to come, so I’m not hugely surprised it’s so high!

I think it’s especially popular amongst some who grew up in the past 30 years but I always have found it a bit basic.

Confide In Me and particularly Tender are my favourites of the recent drop outs. CIM is the best from 90s Kylie (although I echo the love for Where The Wild Roses Grow) and Tender is just a stunning song, although it did take me quite a few listens to appreciate how much. Sit Down was fairly close to my votes as well.

Crazy, The Sign & Streets Of Philadelphia are all great as well but not particularly firm favourites.

A No 21 hit in 1996 originally, this got picked for the soundtrack to “Romeo +Juliet” and voila a major hit. More unusually for 1997 it climbed to No 2!

I’m going to be saying this a lot now… but… love both of those two. The Cardigans had some great singles, the Long Gone Before Daylight era is my favourite. Tubthumping definitely deserved number one, it’s one of the most memorable tracks of the 90s.

The Cardigans <3 Although I preferred the first two singles from Gran Turismo to this song (both all-time favourites), Lovefool is such a wonderful track. I'm so glad it got a shot on Romeo + Juliet and was able to become the hit it always would have sounded like if that had never happened.

Tubthumping is a classic too. Unfortunate to end up behind Men In Black, it definitely deserved a week at No.1, I remember it being everywhere at the time.
