Still obsessed with this album. It's a sound I've wanted from her for a while now and sge suuts it so, so well.

1989 + Speak Now + Midnights are probably my Taylor holy trinity.

This. I already know Midnights is in my holy trinity, as is Speak Now. The third was always 1989 but this last year, Red TV has taken over. I was always 1989 before Red so let’s see 1989 take that crown again once TV comes out.

It’s hard to choose a top three in this album but mine is (I think):

1. Anti-Hero

2. You’re on your own kid

3. Question…? / Karma / Bejeweled (forced to choose - Karma)

The unfiltered streams are published, it dropped around 36% globally.

I like the album, especially Anti-Hero and Karma, but cannot see it having lots of replay value as a whole, compared to Folklore at least.

1st day - 185,581,612

2nd day - 118,682,984 (-36%)

Total So Far - 304,264,596

Those 2nd day figures are still amazing. I guess it’s about where it will stabilise

Edit: Swift breaks the record for the biggest second day streams for any album on Spotify in history surpassing “Donda” by Kanye West (105M).

2nd Edit:

2nd day unfiltered global streams with the breakdown of each song.

Anti-Hero is also holding up well globally on streaming:

Day 1 — 17,596,290

Day 2 — 12,560,855 (-28%)

Lavender Haze (9,414,989) and Snow on the Beach (9,033,387) are the two highest streamed songs behind Anti-hero on day two - they’ve dropped by 43% & 40% respectively.

The other song on the standard edition that is holding up the best / has the smallest drop (after Anti-Hero)?

Karma (7,207,299) with a 33% drop

From this article in The Sun:

SHAPE OF DOCU Ed Sheeran filming tell-all documentary as he confirms tour will last until 2026

"Released on Friday, by midnight on Saturday 131,057 copies had been snapped up here, while Arctic Monkeys’ The Car had shifted 102,494.

The astronomical numbers in such a short time are impressive given the previous fastest-selling album of 2022 was Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, which saw 113,000 copies bought over seven days in May.

It is Taylor’s highest first-week sales in the UK and means Midnights is already certified gold."

131k in the first 2 days....... WHAT?

From The Sun:

IN the biggest chart battle of the year so far, Taylor Swift is absolutely blowing Arctic Monkeys out of the water.

I can reveal her tenth album, Midnights, which only became available to buy two days ago, is already 2022’s fastest-selling album.

Released on Friday, by midnight on Saturday 131,057 copies had been snapped up here, while Arctic Monkeys’ The Car had shifted 102,494.

Unbelievable figures for both acts!

Something really nice and poetic about her getting a record and swiping it away from Kanye!

Those UK sales are absurd! Holy FUCCCCKKKK

If you all had to choose three songs to be in the top 3, would they be these ones and if not, which ones would they be ?

Swap LB for Karma and that’s my top 3 on the album *.*

I cannot stop playing karma on repeat, what a song :cheeseblock:

Would've Should've Could've is her only song to climb in streams on spotify as far as i'm aware, and its helped because of the 'give me back my girlhood' line going semi-viral on tiktok!
Also shes on Jimmy Fallon today! I reckon she'll announce the next single ahead of the MV release! I also wonder if she's gonna perform Anti-hero or something else?

Spotify finally updated the playcounts for Saturday, 790k for Anti-Hero on Day 2 and she still has the whole top 5 and 13 of the top 15

Sam is at #6 with 491k and David/Bebe at #14 with 358k

I really hope she does perform! And bring on that music video 2 promo! Can’t wait to see what song it is :)

Am I the only 'Question...?' stan? Can't get enough of this song at the mo

Nope! It's my 2nd fave!

Nope, I think it’s great too - defo in my top 8

Midnights Metascore is at 87

It just puts the album behind

Red TV @ 91 and Folklore at 88

this is contnual proof why taylor doesn't release lead singles anymore and does this style of release. the numbers and hype are insane.

Yeah it really works. If people had heard a pre-release single and disliked it, there was potential for cancelled orders, viral "hate"/disappointment re: the song...

Personally I’d love the second video to be ‘You’re On Your Own Kid.’ Love the song and think it would make a cool video.
