Taylor's first number 1 album in Germany. Vinyl release made the difference, without it it would have been just another Top 5 entry for her.
204k in the UK apparently

No way!? That would so good if she got over 200k!

01 204,501 Taylor Swift - Midnights [75,667 CDs, 61,948 vinyl, 1,835 cassettes, 7,087 downloads, 57,964 streaming]

Wow

The streaming numbers are the third highest weekly streaming point accumulated in one week (behind Ed’s divide twice). It was very close to the second spot.

Would have had 8 in the top 10 without the 3 chart rule. Wow

I’ve not listened to her album yet (or even the last couple of albums tbf) but even so it is incredible to watch how Taylor keeps on getting more and more successful. I feel like most people thought she peaked with 1989 but it feels like, even though the albums have had less sales due to the album market, it feels like Taylor is still peaking and is one of the most exciting artists around. Major respect to her, especially when it originally felt like she would peak with Love Story and not last much longer than that:

Hey folks, congatulations with such big success to Ms Swift!

Well done, well done!

She's is great artist and wish her only best in her career!

She's not only talented but very intellegent artist and this is what I like even more.

Anti-Hero music video is funny too :)

p.s. Started (and recognised) to admire her talents since this amazing live performance of Phil Collins's Can't Stop Loving You

That is a beautiful cover - and she’s so pretty ! Argh I can’t wait to see her live again

Just read an article claiming Midnights has sold 1.12M physicals in the US & 1.54M overall with streams added?! Has this been confirmed yet?

An album selling over 1M physicals in a week is insane - I don’t think anyone thought this would ever happen again?!

Apparently, only 22 albums have sold over 1M in one week in the US (since they started tracking it in 1991). Taylor has 5 out of those 22 albums:

Speak Now: 1,047,000 (16th in 2010)

Red: 1,208,000 (18th in 2012)

1989: 1,287,000 (19th in 2014)

Midnight: 1,578,000 (22nd in 2022)

5 of the last 7 albums to sell 1M+ have come from Taylor. The only other two albums were by Lady Gaga (Born This Way) 17th album in 2011 and Adele (25) 20th album in 2015.

Taylor has been the dominant force in the US for quite some time and with Midnights coming out with the highest tally so far, i’d say it’s safe to say she didn’t peak with 1989 (as many had suspected).
