Aaaaaah :cheeseblock: :cheeseblock: :cheeseblock: I rly thought it was delusional to expect a new album this year but here we are

The cover is giving halfway between 1989 and Reputation so I'm hoping for something dark and electronic (maybe something like

) but I know it'll be a serve whatever happens!

Omg whoah what? Hey? Argh!!

I’m on holiday and was pretty shocked when this came up on my news feed. Wowzers.

Love the concept for this - sounds like it’s going to be quite dark however there are 101 things someone can think about on a sleepless night ! :yahoo:

Me neither - shock. This and Britney in the same week im on my holiday is a bit much lol :w00t:

so far it's only available to pre-order at her store right? 1 vinyl is not enough :D

Yeah I think so. Have just preordered the CD

Very excited for this! Can't wait to see what vibe it has. I'm loving the fact it's looking to be moody, late-night, sultry vibes with a sinister twist maybe? Bring it on!
I wonder what the first single will be (Assuming we get one! We need a taste ahead of time!)

It would be so good if she actually pushed a single properly before release with some promo…

Taylor really spoils her fans doesn't she?! *.* very intrigued by this project - especially the possibility of a darker direction!

It’s a shame Taylor is releasing the same week as the Arctic Monkeys as it’s a strong probability that this album could end the run of #1 albums in the U.K.

Here are Taylor’s more recent album opening week sales:

Reputation 2017 = 84,000

Lover 2019 = 53,000

Folklore 2020 = 37,000

Evermore 2020 = 27,000

Fearless TV 2021 = 21,000

Red TV 2021 = 72,000

And here is the Arctic Monkey’s last opening week album sales:

Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino 2018 = 86,000

I know it’s not a direct comparison etc but one must prepare for Taylor’s run of #1 albums possibly coming to an end…

Red TV massively outperformed my first week expectations. With this being a whole new studio album there may be even higher first week sales this time around.

It would be nice if both albums could go to #1 at some point. Folklore and Evermore both had more than one week at #1 so if the release schedule in the initial weeks after release aren’t too busy maybe whoever doesn’t debut at #1 may climb there? However, that may be because of those albums being surprise drops and different formats coming at different times what resulted in more than just the one week at #1 in the UK.

Quite an interesting battle though. I imagine both will stream well too in opening week but I’d imagine Taylor could have the edge on streams overall although Arctic Monekys do well on streams especially the AM album.

Is the chart battle likely to just be in the UK?

Of course ! I didn’t even think of week 2. With all formats seemingly being released for pre release, Taylor’s first week sales should be huge. It’s hard to know Artic Monkeys as they haven’t released anything for quite some time.

I agree, an exciting week for album sales.

I’ll release a poll soon to collate people’s thoughts

I read she is releasing on October 21 because 10 + 2 + 1 = 13.

I mean of course - duh! Who cares if another big release is going out
