I think it's a little sketchy that labels have the power in cases like this to just disregard their release schedule at the drop of a hat to have already banked pre-orders count earlier than planned just because it's more convenient for the chart outcome, if I were the OCC I'd have those sales go towards the week they were meant to come out regardless. But can't blame them for playing the game (if that is what's happening indeed, should probably wait for the chart to come out before trusting a single anecdote).

 

Guetta will most likely still get #1 at some point anyway, not like this week was his only chance. It's clearly a bigger streaming hit than the Lewis song at least for now.

Under the Influence is fantastic? It's got a really catchy melody to it so it's no surprise it's taken off. The album 'Indigo' you're referring to is not bloatfest also.

So I assume they have been shipped ? If it has been, he can catch the #01 easily.

Yeah that'll be #1 for Lewis then...! I don't like his song anywhere near as much as I'm Good (Blue) but that has an open shot next week so I'm not mad.

Under The Influence is a very vibey track. I didn’t like it when I first heard it in full a few weeks ago but then after a while it just clicked for me. It’s quite addictive imo.

Presumably so they can hold them back for when it looks like they'll need them to secure the number one? Something feels really off about achieving a number one in this way but fair play to them I guess. I don't begrudge him a number one, as long as 'I'm Good' gets it next week - I'll be pissed if that ends up peaking at #2 because of Lewis's games.

You do realise, after this post anything you say in future about Kim Petras cannot and will not be taken seriously.

At least if the signed CDs are out of the way in the first week it's all in one go and eliminates another week where he might have got a free shot at #1 from it. Not that i'm particularly huge on the Guetta track either but the idea of Lewis Capaldi being at #1 for weeks and weeks on end looks more distant now.
