This is okay

My thoughts too - it's not bad at all though it does sound quite cheap (especially against all the natural Weeknd comparisons)

Biography

“We’re the ones that are pushing this boundary,” D-Block Europe’s Young Adz told Apple Music. “People who are signing urban music over here—they call it urban, we call it pop in the streets—that ain’t street music. We’re doing street, UK, wavy music, front-lining it.” They might not consider themselves pop, but by the most literal definition, DBE are just that. Chart positions, sold-out arenas and a nomination for the 2020 BRIT Award for British Group (before they’d even released a debut album) all make them one of UK rap’s most popular acts. D-Block Europe was originally a collective that called upon various London MCs, but Adz and childhood friend Dirtbike LB have emerged as both the engine room and executive board of the operation. They met at Sedgehill School in South London, where Adz was dropping mixtapes from the age of 13. He signed an ultimately fruitless major-label deal at 15 before coming under the patronage of NY rap heavyweight Jadakiss, who offered features, support slots and license to use The LOX’s D-Block Records name. With a series of self-released singles and mixtapes, Young Adz and Dirtbike LB took their place at UK rap’s top table during the late 2010s. Leavening trap’s chilly textures and portraits of road life with sticky Auto-Tuned hooks, their music is notable for its nimble wordplay and candour. While D-Block quickly gathered notoriety for their unfiltered bedroom braggadocio (“Kitchen Kings”), their willingness to open up about mental health and therapy (“Prescription Drugs”) has made them a standout presence in UK rap. It’s all been done independently by the industrious duo (63 new tracks released across three mixtapes during 2019 alone). They’ve continuously waved away offers from labels, confident that no one can guide their career as well as they can. Every award, Top 5 release or filled arena only strengthens their self-belief. “When you see Messi kick ball, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” said Young Adz. “Sometimes, the people have to choose you because they’re like, ‘We ain’t never going to see this again—from their sounds, from what they talk about.’ Our personalities shine through our music. We’re bigger personalities than rappers.” - Apple Music

Biography

After a chance encounter at an open-mike night just outside of their hometown of Bridlington, East Yorkshire, U.K. in 2011, the sweeping folk duo known as Seafret was born. Guitarist Harry Draper and vocalist Jack Sedman were impressed with each other's performances, and quickly decided to work together as musicians. They lived close to the coast, and the name "Seafret" referenced both the mist that rolls in from the North Sea during the summer, and a pun on a guitar fretboard. In 2014, after gaining some traction online, the duo made the move to London. Leaving their hometown instilled their songwriting with a greater sense of loss, both of the coastline they had grown up with and their respective loved ones. In September of the same year they released their debut EP, Give Me Something, via Sweet Jane Recordings. They spent over two years writing music together prior to relocating to London; such a wealth of material allowed them to quickly follow their debut with a second EP at the start of 2015, the aptly titled Oceans. They spent the majority of 2015 touring, including a string of coffee shop appearances where they performed with just an acoustic guitar. All the while they were composing the tracks that would form their debut album, Tell Me It's Real, which saw release in early 2016 via Columbia Records. Returning to their hometown of Bridlington shortly thereafter, the duo set to work on a second LP, Most of Us Are Strangers. After drip-feeding singles throughout the late 2010s, the duo finally released their sophomore album in February of 2020. - Apple Music

let's all mourn :/ 3 entries by DBE
oh love this <3 such a nice little song
Great start to the show with Hotel and Atlantis!
3 D-Block Europe entries. Enjoy! :(

Thinking and hoping Sam & Kim should be #1 today - another good #1 for representation (whatever you think of Kim Petras it'll be a big moment to have an openly trans artist at #1) and a far better song than the last couple of #1s, especially the dumpster fire it's competing with this week x

The Seafret song is pretty nice, not blowing me away but nice for genre diversity and whatnot.

First time hearing 'Hotel' and not bad but not massive on either. 'Atlantis' is very nice though, great for heading into winter time too.
have all the DBE tracks have profanities?
It's insane to me how D-Block Europe are so massive, they feel faceless and haven't had any iconic/memorable hits, to me at least. I know I'm not their audience but other acts similar to the. I at least get their success and can see their appeal.
Again good luck to anyone who likes Chris Brown or D-Block Europe on here, god help ya if you dismissed the mighty Dua Lipa or Lady Gaga on here.
He will definitely play at least 1

Maybe 2

Not if they don't have clean edits.
