So the big question being how will the OCC work this? Will they combine both versions or have it as 2 separate entries?

If combined, it should certainly chart this week

The Southstar track was in the Spotify viral charts for months

 

Completely overlooked that, I suspect there would have been enough to veto it even before today's appearance.

 

Shame there's two different versions of this to split the sales, I wonder if one will quickly soar well ahead or if they'll climb and chart in tandem (assuming the track continues to grow). If they do then I guess the peak that either could have achieved will be diluted.

The Miss You song is very eurodance sounding and so I would like it to be a hit (and not for its streams to be divided by two different versions), I get the Rain Radio comparison as I thought Talk About was quite eurodance sounding too.

 

Its not quite trance which is the dance genre I want most to return to the charts but I certainly think trance is getting closer to returning to the charts again now.

I'm still waiting for this as well. Trance compilations still seem to sell so I really don't get why it's still out in the wilderness.

 

I do believe it will have its day again at some point, it might take a major artist using it as the basis for a big new single perhaps to properly push it back into the mainstream. And then once everyone is back on board it will start to infiltrate and become trendy again. Or a big underground trance track could blow up on TikTok and pave the way. Who knows, but I don't think it's too far away.

Same here, it's always been one of my favourite subgenres of dance. I loved the big trance hits of the early 2000s and have some of the compilations from back then, they still sound great!

Just played both 'Miss You' songs back to back, getting very Clubland 2002 vibes. :lol:

 

The vocal is much less grating on the Southstar version though.
