:cheeseblock: Extremely pleased about its climb to #31! Now let's get it into the Top 30.

Kind of frustrating how close the sales are in the midweeks in the low Top 10/Top 15 region. Obviously we have no idea how many cassettes have been sold, but if we're talking 1,000+ then that would surely be enough for it to comfortably get into the Top 10 on Friday.

Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

I hope everyone doesn't stop streaming once she gets top 10. We need to continue. She could be top 40 all summer into mid August
I just hope she makes it to top 10, the competition is getting stiffer and the tiniest of extras from BMG could do so much

To be fair, most people streaming it are not doing so just to get it into the charts. It’s doing well in the streaming charts because people want to hear it - and this is the reason why it is playlisted as well.

Oh my, this I did not know!

And it does 100% count as a separate sale?

You know me - I can always teach you a think or two 😉

I recall our ‘discussion’ about purchasing video downloads from iTunes. Talking of which - has everyone downloaded the video from iTunes?

^^ I was going to say we are not having a huge impact - between us all we’re probably adding a handful of sales.

If streaming was that easy from just the fanbase alone every Kylie song would do well.

Hi hun

Does this count towards a sale? If so I have not done this yet hun.

ACR is gonna take effect starting the week of 21 July, so I don't expect her to be top 40 in August (unless of course she continues to defy expectations as late as then).

When does a song get on ACR?

Starting in its 10th week, and if its weekly sales have declined three weeks in a row. Padam Padam was released on 18 May, so its 10th chart week would be the one starting 21 July.

Week 10 if it's had 3 declines in a row by that point, although given how flawed the ACR system has shown itself to be lately and how it's establishing itself as a key song of the summer (a time when streams are traditionally bolstered by the hot weather), I'd predict it won't be getting the ACR treatment as soon as that!

And this is why you don’t throw out every version in 1 week - yes we’d all like it to go Top 10 but I’d be happy with #12 and a 3 month stint in the Top 40 equally.

Only streaming is taken into consideration for ACR, not downloads etc. So it stops a record company banging out a remix on iTunes one week just to avoid ACR.

I hope the next surprise will be a 7" vinyl up for pre-order! After this week though, get the cassette selling as much as possible before that.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the streaming-only part!

I'm fairly confident that when all is said and done this will end up among longest-running chart hits.

Her current top ten is:

#1. Santa Baby: 31 weeks

#2. Can't Get You Out of My Head: 30 weeks

#3. In Your Eyes: 23 weeks

#4. Wow: 21

#5/6. Higher/Kids: 20 weeks

#7. All The Lovers: 19 weeks

#8. I Should Be So Lucky: 17 weeks

#9. 2 Hearts: 16 weeks

#10. Slow: 15 weeks

Hoping this ends up being true!

I’d be here for a 7” vinyl release. In fact I might palm off some of my cds if she does a vinyl release!

Buzzing for its new peak on Spotify, just hope for a climb for next 2 days too and then with cassettes added on hoping it can reach number 10 this week at least and then continue to hold up, I’m optimistic that 12 is not its peak!

I’m sure it’s coming - we had them for SS, Magic, RG etc., - just depends on when they were ordered in terms of when we get them! :drama:

How many times has everyone listened to Padam so far ? (if you track your play counts?)
