I am hoping for a sales update once the vinyls have been added

Well, that's if they're added, the jury's still out on that one. We know additional Beatles formats aren't included in their weekly sales figures, and we have to wait and see when it goes silver to be able to work out if the additional formats actually contribute to the overall Beatles single total.

Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

1. Kylie Minogue, ‘Padam Padam’

There are many ways to hear “Padam Padam.” First, as Edith Piaf dancing to Kraftwerk in a loud nightclub. Then, as a virality that swiftly thumped across the wilds of TikTok. By summertime, it had become the unofficial theme song of Pride Month. Now, in hindsight, it’s a hit that makes Minogue appear as durable as Janet Jackson or Madonna. Also, here’s a fourth way to hear it: What if this song, in all its artificial sleekness, is about facial recognition software (“You look a little like somebody I know”), virtual home assistants (“I know you wanna take me home”), data scraping (“I’ll be in your head all weekend”) and digital fitness wearables (“I can hear your heart beating”)? What if, instead of singing about one human seducing another, Minogue is singing about technology’s unstoppable seduction of our species? My worried heart padams a little faster.

Pretty sure the cut off the year to date Top 100 is 380k and Padam Padam has just slipped out, so yeah about 375k-380k.
I wondered is BMG wolud have requested PP come off ACR due to her promo etc this week. I read you can do this once for a song on an album but i doubt BMG even bothered
I'm not totally sure performing it as part of a show with other songs would meet the OCC's criteria of actively promoting it, but then again this is the OCC and they make it up as they go along.
There is a performance and a Padam 'Off' with Alison Hammond. What more would they want? hahahaha

Padam padam will continue picking up a couple of thousand sales each week for a while yet, i really do think it will get her another platinum single eventually.
If Padam Padam wasn't the big hit it became would fans rate the song as highly?
I was loving Padam Padam during the first few days when I assumed it would deliver her a 50-out chart run. The success was exciting to see happen, but it didn't make me rate the song higher just because it was a hit.

She didn’t have a hit for 10+ years prior and I didn’t love those songs any more or less based on chart position, the same with PP.
