Yay for that big climb for Runaway (U & I), can't believe it almost made the top 20 here! Their best song by far.

Blank Space hitting a new peak this year is also welcome.

We do not need a Sia comeback thank you ('Chandelier' is still a great song but her more recent releases have not been it, not to speak of her revealing herself as a fairly questionable person with the whole controversy around the 'Music' film).

Brilliant to see 'Blank Space' hitting a new peak (an odd looking run with it getting off to a great start then looking to stabilise at a much lower position before suddenly bouncing to a new high!)

Aw at the drop for 'Green Light' but still a respectable position anyway, 5 years top 25 on the trot. Feeling pretty neutral about the other two songs there, 'Runaway (U & I)' is pretty easily my favourite Galantis song but I still don't really particularly love it, and always found 'Nothing Breaks Like A Heart' decent at best and very overrated, the next 2 singles from that album were both better imo.

Wolf Alice in the top 20 *.*! Niche fans rise up

Happy to see a new peak for 'Nothing Breaks Like A Heart'

I think my love for 'Runaway (U & I)' peaked the year it came out, but a new peak for that is cool to see too, still their best by miles.

Wolf Alice top 20 :cheeseblock:

I only voted for Chandelier out of those 5 songs in the final. Looks a great top 20, amazing for Wolf Alice!

Suspect we might see a Taylor song or two make the top 20 next year...

The rate seems a bit more stable this year? If memory serves by this point last year, songs from the previous year's Top 5 had been falling out.

Wolf Alice top 20 🤯. Safe to say I'll never have a more successful nomination ever again!

 20 18 390 Rita Ora - Anywhere

13-05-05-18-20-

2nd, 2017

Kicking off the top 20 is the highest place song by Rita Ora; ‘Anywhere’… it is also the only Rita Ora song to make it to the final this year. The song has had some great consistency over the last 5 years, never dropping out of the top 20. Initially the song debuted at 13, however climbed to a peak of 5th place the following year where it remained the year after that. It did take a big drop last year to 18 and this year does fall to its lowest position to date, but given how some songs have bombed over the years, it has shown great consistency. ‘Anywhere’ finished in 2nd place in its heat and had a direct route to the final, it gained 18 votes in the final round and actually finishes as the top placed song from 2017, beating ‘Green Light. Which means 2017 becomes the second year to be all out of songs. ‘Anywhere’ is a fantastic pop song and was huge when it was first released, however was blocked from the top spot by ‘Havana’.

 19 41 395 David Guetta (feat. Sia) - Titanium

Also here ‘Titanium’ manages to climb back into the top 20 in its final year. The song has had quite a journey over the years; initially debuting at Number 7, however it has never quite managed to replicate that success. Over the years it has taken a series of drops, however has only failed to make the top 50 on one occasion where it dropped to a low at 59. Last year it dropped to 41, however this year it gained 18 votes in the final round and manages to climb 22 places to hit its 3rd highest ever ranking. The song only finished 13th in its heat, but top 5 in the second semi-final – for 2012 songs, it is the fifth highest song in the final. The song is an absolute banger and worthy of its top 20 placement. The song builds and builds before having a fantastic drop and is Guetta at his peak. It is by some way the biggest song of the Guetta/ Sia collaborations; unless she has another breakthrough hit, this is probably the last of Sia in the final rounds. Guetta meanwhile has had a huge resurgence and I can see ‘I’m Good’ and a couple of others breaking into the finals in the future.

Love all of them but I've never really got the hype with 'Nothing Breaks Like A Heart' despite being a massive Miley fan.

Anywhere  it's always an uplifting listen for me.

I didn't quite have room for Titanium in the final, but it's had a very good run.

that’s a great final showing for Titanium, very pleased that a decade on it seems to have gone down as one of the ultimate EDM classics - very deserved.
I'm glad Anywhere is still doing so well, it's so deserved! One of the greatest pop songs of the 10s for sure.

Well Anywhere did feel like one of the sore thumbs in that top 20 list. It's a decent pop song, but nothing special to my ears. I'm afraid I don't get the adoration for it here.

Titanium- remember when David Guetta had #1 hits that were actually richly deserved because they sounded great?

:ne: 18 ** 410 Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever

18-

2nd, 2021

Joining 'Everything I Wanted' in the top 20 this year, Billie Eilish has one of three brand new entries in the top 20 with 'Happier Than Ever'. Whilst Billie had remained consistently popular throughout 2021 dropping numerous singles, another huge hit was yet to happen but in the end it appeared she was saving it for the album release with the title track peaking at #4. A song of two parts, with the radio chopping off the first acoustic section but the general streaming public happy to play its entirety, it was certainly a unique chart hit, even if not one I particularly enjoy. The song also gained praise for a rare moment of Billie moving away from her whispery vocal style toward the song's climax. Having finished 2nd in its yearly round, it just about got beat by...

:ne: 17 ** 413 Wolf Alice - The Last Man On Earth

17-

6th, 2021 | 3rd, SF2

'The Last Man On Earth' ends up as the 2nd-highest 2021 hit, performing significantly better than Wolf Alice's other entry here. It led their third album 'Blue Weekend', a UK #1 album however it did not produce any hit singles. The front woman said of the song that it is about the arrogance of humans and inspired by the 1963 novel Cat's Cradle. It proved to be very popular with their small and loyal fanbase on Buzzjack, having the most top-heavy set of scores in the whole top 40. It received 13 votes, 9 of these in voters' top 10 rankings. This was a discovery for me during the contest as I hadn't been following this band, and whilst it fell well short of my votes, it is a rather interesting song and it's good to have a surprise in the results like this.

Awesome to see Wolf Alice secure a top 20 position, and The Last Man On Earth is a fantastic pick from them to have that, I wouldn't have called that at all on Buzzjack but they are one of the best bands around right now and a great choice for a cult Buzzjack fave
Brilliant debut position for Last Man on Earth *.* It was my favourite song of last year and so will be very high up my rankings in this for years to come. Happier Than Ever is also a highlight from the same year and I'd call it Billie's best so hopefully it can keep up this popularity.

Last Man On Earth is arguably my favourite song of the decade full stop, and most certainly my favourite to appear in this final, so I'm absolutely ecstatic and amazed to see it voted into the top 20!

Happier Than Ever is also my absolute favourite "big hit" from last year and probably of the decade. Possibly hoped it might sneak into the top 10 but can't argue with top 20.

What a pairing!

Wolf Alice getting the second highest new entry  I feel like its niche fan support might dry up a bit as it ages but fabulous to see a good crowd of people sticking with it enough for it to get such an impressive entry position.

And another really good new entry there from Billie, it wasn't my favourite song from the 'Happier Than Ever' era but still fab and it was great to see her managing a big hit from the era in the end after the pre-album singles all struggled a bit (bar 'Therefore I Am' I guess but even that just felt like a slightly lesser 'bad guy', both musically and chart-wise), can certainly see why it was the big one from the album as well.

Fantastic debuts for both those songs. Happier Than Ever is my favourite Billie song by some distance. I didn't know too much from Wolf Alice before I heard The Last Man On Earth, but it was pretty much an instant classic for me.

Great result for Wolf Alice and actually a good new discovery for me here even if it wasn't enough to make my votes.

Happier Than Ever is another stunning track from Billie! I might nominate TV next year.

Great to see two of my top 5 finishing so high

As much as I'm absolutely delighted at The Last Man on Earth finishing so high (I gave it 38 points and ranked it #1 of 2021) I do find it slightly odd it does so much better than Don't Delete The Kisses, given that was, and I'd say still is, their signature song, and for me still remains untouchable.

Happier Than Ever was also in my top 10 of 2021, I love the way it builds and the song splits into two, I'd generally liked most of Billie's songs but didn't love any until this.

'The Last Man on Earth' single-handedly turned me into a Wolf Alice fan overnight after their previous material passed me by for the most part  I have since dug through everything and they have multiple great bodies of work, but 'The Last Man on Earth' is still the one song of theirs that stops me dead in my tracks the most, just stunning. I'm glad that BuzzJack has taken it under its wing.

'Happier Than Ever' was a real turnaround moment from Billie after the era initially wasn't capturing the zeitgeist like her previous one did. It's perfectly channelled angst with an immensely satisfying build up, love the in-your-face, explosive climax. 'GOLDWING' is actually my favourite on the album but it's difficult to compare to 'Happier Than Ever', as it's so choral and angelic, a real swerve  but both hit very different spots for me. I was happy with the album in the end.
