I agree, I don't get Euphoria at all from this? This feels a lot less 'club banger'.

It sounds more like The Winner Takes It All than Euphoria.

Tattoo sounda more similar to Sound of Silence than Euphoria!!

It has the same soaring structure as Euphoria, the build to a crescendo and a powerful wave of an instrumental underneath it. I feel it hits most of the same structural beats pretty much to the point of boredom - and that puts it closer to Loreen's former winner than any song (like Winner Takes It All) it may sonically sound more like.

 

It's not like this is the only song structure that Loreen can do, Statements was something completely different and so was a lot of Heal. It feels like it's retreading the exact same ground.

It’s weird how we can all interpret music so differently, but like I said in the Pop topic: For me, Euphoria and Tattoo are distinct enough from each other that I don't feel like that latter is a carbon copy by any means. The differences for me lie in the production value, the structure and the pace of the build up. (So that’s pretty much the opposite to how Iz feels about it lel x)

To me the chorus in 'Euphoria' explodes immediately after each verse. There's no build to it in the same way that each chorus of 'Tattoo' builds into the next part of the song and climaxing with the biggest chorus in a way a final chorus should be done, imo and it's in a way that I am a HUGE sucker for in a pop song. 'Euphoria' has that final explosive chorus too ofc, but I don't think it's any less or more explosive than the choruses that came before that, whereas I feel it's kinda more prominent and obvious in 'Tattoo'.

The voting stats are out. Every age group gave 12 to Loreen apart from the 3-9 year olds who gave her just 1 point :lol: Too busy voting for the calming child rock of Six Feet Under, which got 8 points from them.

 

Wiktoria was the big loser from the voting system, as she got more votes in the first heat than Tennessee Tears but the age group system put them through. While Mariette got fewer votes than Axel Schylström in her heat but managed to get through, and then of course made it into the final.
