With only one month to go until the World Cup starts who do you think will win the tournament?, the current favourites for the World Cup are Brazil, with second favourites being the reigning champions France. Amongst the favourites are: Argentina, Spain and England. Also amongst the contenders are Germany who you can never write off, Netherlands in the first World Cup since Brazil 2014, Portugal and Belgium.

Dark horses could be Euro 2020 semi-finalists Denmark, 2018 World Cup runners-up Croatia, and Uruguay.

I think this could be a fairly unpredictable World Cup but would say Brazil are in the best position to win it!

Argentina for me. Think the South American teams will have the edge with the climate, although I really have no idea what to expect.

I think as a team Argentina have peaked, Messi seems much happier and they have a structure rather than a "let's just shoe-horn all these big name players in". I'd really like to see them win it.

For what it's worth I think England will really struggle, we're not in great form and I do think the climate will not do us any favours whatsoever. Same for Wales.

Brazil is the clear favorite, they've basically been unbeatable the past couple years, granted not in major tournament with European competition, but still. If you have a squad where someone like Gabriel Jesus might not even make the cut, enough said!

After that I really like Netherlands to make a run and also consider Argentina as co-favorite. Denmark, Serbia, and Senegal as darkhorses.

Among squads who are going to be deemed as filler and should be taken more seriously: Canada and Morocco (so look out Belgium and Croatia!)

Yeh voted for Argentina to have the edge on Brazil with their victory in the Copa America last year and they have more structure than Brazil. Again dark horses are Denmark, Serbia and Canada.

Remember people on BJ laughed when I said Denmark were one of the best teams in Europe at the start of Euro 2020 but I was proven pretty much right with their performance - I was really impressed watching them vs Ireland a fair few times before those finals.

I hope its not Argentina as I've back them the past 2 WCs and they let me down. We're on a run of 4 European Champions in a row so I hope that continues.

France won't make it out of the group stage due to the champions curse. I'm gonna say it'll be Spain.

I've been saying the winners will be from South America for some time but I suspect the stronger African teams will do well too this time. Mexico too. The head says it should be Brazil but I have a sneaky feeling about Argentina this time around
It does seem to be quite an open one! I'd like a non-European winner as I don't think I've watched a World Cup which hasn't had one, so Brazil/Argentina sound like good shots.

That's actually an interesting point, Brazil in 2002 was the last time a non European country won it. I couldn't guess now who will win it, think I'll wait closer to the start of the tournament and once the squads have been announced. Would be nice if a team can win it for the first time ever this year.

I've just heard that Argentina are currently 35 games unbeaten in a row. Italy were on a similar unbeaten streak heading into Euro 2020 and that momentum carried them all the way, because of this I'll go with Argentina but it still feels like the most open World Cup that there's been in quite a long time.

I've got a feeling Germany will do it time.

They've going under the radar a bit because they've had 2 poor tournaments in a row but it would be quite unprecedented if they made it 3.

I just feel they have some good young players, a solid midfield and with a fresh manager for the first time in too long, I think they will surprise everyone.

Not sure how much of a surprise a German win would be tbh!

They seem to be the 6th favourites with most bookmakers.

I’m the only one to vote for them here and I’ve read loads of team guides over the past week and haven’t seen anyone else mention them to win.
