It should have just stayed 32 teams, with USA-Mexico-Canada all qualifying as co-hosts and a fourth CONCACAF team getting a bid, with a fifth going to intercontinental playoffs.

December 11, 20222 yr It was disappointing to see the England team knocked out yesterday, especially as they've shown that they now can control games and respond well to pressure, but I felt less upset than I did last year when they lost the Euros final on penalties.. it felt like it was coming. France were fully deserving of their win and I expect that they will go on to win the World Cup again. Personally I'm just so proud of this England team in particular, I feel like they represent the best of us and am more than ever willing for them to do well because of this, in spite of the unpleasant rhetoric around nationalism that may increase should England have won. We've come a long way from the likes of John Terry, and Wayne Rooney making a miserable sarky comment to the camera. Also, it was SO satisfying to see Neymar, Suarez and Ronaldo all leave the WC in tears, that made my Christmas. :D Good riddance, and congrats to Morocco for becoming the first African nation to make the Semi-Finals - I feel like they should have won the bid to hold the 2022 WC instead of the corrupt and abusive Qatari regime.
