This Croatia team has a good midfield, but they're missing some pace.

Canada looks set to be the only country except for Qatar to leave the tournament with 0 points. It was a tough group, but they have to be disappointed,

Belgium deservedly out of the World Cup! They've been poor throughout and I don't see Roberto Martinez remaining as their manager. Very good achievement for Morocco to top this group and something that probably no one would have predicted before the tournament.

Belgium out is hilarious! It was the Chelsea version of Lukaku which turned up today.

That was bad performance from Belgium, and all those chances in the second half was hilarious, how can you miss a target :lol:

 

And players like Witsel etc etc, he was practically non existent throughout that match, they should have known from the moment they started the match at the beginning it was a must win scenario... on the whole nothing happened apart from Croatia, who looked better on the pitch. This match had a lot of chances from both ends but came up shooting blanks.

On a separate note kudos to Morocco for winning the group, on their only second appearance, since 1982.They play probably Japan or Germany in the next round

Martinez has resigned, just breaking now

Belgium's squad was just not what it was, their big players are almost all past their peak. Martinez is definitely unfairly criticised for his performance at Belgium but they got a great win over Brazil at the last World Cup and lost in the semi final to France who also had an amazing team, then lost to the winners of Euro 2020. Their best squad was easily 2016, and that's when they properly cocked up losing to Wales, and that was pre-Martinez!

I think everyone thought Belgium were past their best going into this World Cup but I don't think De Bruyne saying it helped them at all.

Yeah that was a side of KDB we rarely ever see, brutally honest but at the detriment to team morale! Shit excuse as well, the Croatia side which made the final last time had an older average starting age than any of the Belgium teams. Martinez simply ran out of ideas and relied too much on hopelessly out of form/over the hill players like Hazard.
