Also in the US it's not as close to be loved as last years, I guess WW it's still the biggest hit but I hope it will change at some point, this is the worst song of all time.

All I Want for Christmas Is You is still doing just fine, it's insanely popular, it's just that Wham!'s popularity has increased in the last few years (and Brenda Lee's seems to be on the up).

Didn't AIWFCIY just broke the daily record? It might not be THE most popular in every country, but globally it's still #1.

It hasn't slipped much at all in terms of popularity. Like Joseph said it's just Wham! have overtaken a bit more for people by the look of things. I must admit it'd be great to have a year where those two aren't the highest every year just for change sakes :P

On Christmas Day, 'Christmas Crackers' was promoted on the Spotify homepage, at least it was in the UK.

 

Brenda Lee's inclusion in 'Christmas Classics', the second biggest Christmas themed playlist, is surely helpful in giving her the edge over Mariah Carey (particularly in the US).

These are the Christmas songs in the 101-200 range on Apple Music at about 10pm last night, always interesting to see what lesser known ones appear!

So the OCC destrits Mariah in the charts by having Spotifee promote Chrisrmas Crackers, a very sexist playlist where Leona barely even features, if at all!!!!

Brenda should be very safe for a new official peak of #3 this week but will be interesting to see if she can challenge for #1 in the next few years. I’d be up for a bit of a change at the top. I think I went off Rocking Around The Christmas Tree a long time ago because the CD we had at home had that awful Mel & Kim version on it, but Brenda’s version is great. ^_^

(And both those Bastille and Slow Moving Millie cover versions you mentioned both have a noticeable uplift in streams around this time).

Because people have it in their heads that it’s a Xmas song. Let’s get the Keane version in every Xmas then if you wanna see it as a Xmas song

Despite it being in Home Alone it was Mel and Kim's I was more familiar with growing up :lol: I'm glad Brenda has taken the attention back to the better version (Justin's is bad though, soz Joseph :kink: )
